There's a new rumor circulating that certain of our posters have been making up rumors and posting them here, in some kind of immature mis-guided one-sided competition with the moderators. Which competition the moderators did not know about. The rumor is those people are now banned from PackerChatters.

Oh, sorry, this actually isn't a rumor.

We moderators are all adults, and we ascribe (perhaps inaccurately in some cases) a certain level of maturity to PC members. At times we're wrong. If you want to play games with us, we can't prevent this. But we will eventually figure it out, and then you're history. So, you can "win" for a couple weeks or months, then you get to lose forever. We're very unforgiving of people who deliberately screw up these boards.

Thanks for looking into and cleaning up the mess, Mark. The poster in question always struck me as extremely immature, but his latest line of posts, claiming to have inside knowledge, was over the edge. The funny thing is, he claimed he was 23 years old. However, his antics didn't say that at all.

I do understand why you let him have a long leash, though. A few of the "rumors", at the beginning, were somwhat believable. However, they continuyed to get more outlandish, which I think was a direct slap in the face to Arrigo, Stockjock and the other posters who have proven to have more inside knowledge than the typical poster here. I just hope those guys continue to post information...not just for the rumors, but because they are knowledgable, bright individuals with an obvious love for the Packers. I don't think anyone could deny Favre'sLegacy's love for the team, but he expressed it in a very different, very idiotic at times, way.

I appreciate you cleaning up the board but why mislead us with the title of your post? Talk about silly. Stop playing games and just tell the clowns to knock it off. Either way, good work.

I dont know if that was necessary, but I guess its your call. IMO just delete the threads and let him know it isnt called for. To be honest, I dont believe any of the rumors unless it is said a guy will be in for a visit. Other than that, possible roster moves or draft choices I dont believe until I see it. It is interesting to think about things, but Julius Peppers? Not going to happen. It is fun to read, but I dont know that those guys arent making their stuff up too, just that they are less absurd. It is a double edged sword. If they prove that they have a source, that person could get into trouble and they would also lose a source.

My main gripe is that I am against heavy censorship. I understand that some people are troublemakers and there has to be rules. I just believe that everyone has something to offer (some more than others ) and a full ban is a bit extreme.

In this case when the person in question here makes a statement that his stuff was all false and can't believe we left it up as long as we did he makes a mockery of everyone.

We will continue to do what we've been doing for so long to keep this a good place to come and talk football in good taste.

Didnt see that. That is a jerk thing for him to do. Again, it isnt my call, I just dont care for censorship. I wasnt trying to rock the boat or anything, just tossing a couple pennies into the fountain.

Like TTs d-nut stated it was like a slap to the face to the guys that actually may have inside info. If they choose not to do there posts bscause they are being mocked it would be a blow to this site IMO.

Long time coming on this one. The whole "my friend's cousin" thing kinda tipped me off right away, and many others picked up on it, especially with his regular demeanor on the boards.

I picked up on it when he made his first rumor post. Rumor posting's are good, but they have to be for real, and not "Favre is going to coach the QB's next season" type stuff, like thing's you really don't see happening, and that don't make any sense at all. When Arrigo post his rumors, those are the thing's I can see happening.

I ignored his rumors. I think we all knew he was like some 14 year old kid trying to act like a big shot and making things up thinking we would belive him. I thought it was funny how he was embarresing himself.

Maybe we should all act a little more mature and stop bashing this "person" after the deeds been done...


But hey this is just one 18 year old's opinion...

I thought it was a total rip on Joe, really bad news in my mind.

I didn't (and still don't) take any offense to his posts. I don't know whether or not he had any sources, nor do I care to speculate if he did or dodn't.

PC is a site that is ran by some of the nicest people and they have ran it the same way for a long time and IT WORKS. LMG and the rest of the admins have the sites best interest in mind and make sure it is an enoyable place to talk about the Packers.

Rumors are what they are, that is why I post the disclaimer befor ei make the OTS. People tend to think that every rumor is going to happen, but as we all know they don't for all kind of reasons and it is NOT the person who posts thems fault. Keep that in mind next time you read them (not just on the OTS bu also other rumors on other sites).
