Chris, you invited us to call you out, so......you are a big girl's blouse.

You contributed to all the general media hype about the Giants D line, but answer me this. When did you last see either of our two tackles beaten like a drum, particularly late in the season. It just does not happen. (PREDICTION) Our two tackles handling the Giants D well, is as near a given as you can get in the NFL. I doubt the Giants have faced many lines as good as ours is, at protecting the QB. I'd be more nervous if they had a monster at DT, though our interior line played well against the Seahawks D too.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PREDICTION: If the Giants regularly bring five and more, then they better get to Favre quickly, or the game is over by half-time, and we can go into cruise control with our D line teeing off on the enemy QB, since the Giants would need to pass, to win.

Picking out Collins for whiffing on a couple of tackles was a good spot, classic overpursuit. He needs A.J.Hawk to give him lessons. When did you last see A.J. Make an 'Ole' tackle ? I can't remember the last one. He must be very strong and take great angles to the ball carrier, to be so reliable.

Personally, I think the Giants are just a bit nervous about the Pack. This media stuff Giants are quoting from the last Giants/Packers game (some Packer comments about the Giants being a dirty team) smacks to me of their belief that they need bulletin board material to psyche themselves up for the Lambeau game. They have nothing newer, since the Pack are doing what they normally do before a game, which is to “big-up” the opposition, and so avoid giving the other side stuff to feed off.

If we do not give the ball up much, I can't see the Giants attack being all that potent. They have pretty good RBs, but they lack a great O line, great WRs or a great QB. They no longer have the great TE, so how do they score ? Three yards and a cloud of dust (or snow), will not do it. They win only if our offense stutters, and that has become less and less likely as the season progresses. If Pickett stays healthy, we will be tough to run on.

Now the last time I posted here about Mike McCarthy I said how good I thought he was at game-calling, and how well he picked his spots. At the time I said he may be better than Holmgren, and Chris sort of disagreed with that. After the Seattle game, where Holmgren appeared out of ideas, standing immobile, like a garden gnome in winter, accumulating snow, would you change your mind ? From MM there was a look tailored for the conditions, the two-fullback, one halfback formation that we caught glimpses of earlier in the season, but saw much more of here. Perhaps it is MM's (relative) youth, compared to MH, maybe part of it is having such a QB as we have, but the imagination was on our side.

For this game, I am more with Dave than 'glass half empty' Chris. I think we win going away, and I still believe that, despite the Giants good showing against New England and Dallas.

Of course, by the time you have a chance to respond to this, the next game will be history. I could look very stupid, but that is fair, since your podcasts can come back to haunt you too.

Finally, here is something more for the offseason. Are we, should we, be forced to admit that Kurt can coach ?

ps. It hardly needs saying, but keep those poddies coming. There are many of us that enjoy listening, laughing, ridiculing and sleeping to them. (No, I never meant those last two seriously tongue.gif )

After the game my comments don't look so bright, but hey, it's easy to be 20/20 in hindsight - Plaxico Burress did a very good impression of a great receiver, I'm sorry to say.
