My apologies for not replying sooner, to your excellent reply to me, in an earlier pod. I had awkward computer troubles, which I have finally sorted.... by buying myself a new computer.

Now, armed with a computer that goes like a buck rabbit in a warren filled only with lady rabbits, I am ready to go again.

I don't have a great wad of exciting material for the next podcast, but I do have one possible idea that may interest you. I am wondering how you would rate MM and TT on an A+ to E- scale.

For me, Mike McCarthy gets a top quality B+ mark (you could argue that is a mite high and go for a notch less, a straight B ). He can hardly get more than B+ (the way I score it) simply because he needs to continue to be successful for a longer period for that mark to go up. Although I know him less well than Packer coaches, I'd give Marv Levy an A- for getting his Bills to FOUR superbowls in a short space of time, a truly fantastic achievement in my opinion even though I'm full aware of how many he won of those (0). Had he won even one of those he would have deserved a straight A. An A+ would be an almost impossible mark to achieve, a largely theoretical maximum. Bill Belichek would get an A-, which would be an A, if not for the 'signals' scandal. A straight C is the middle mark.

TT also gets a B+. His drafting expertise is a big part of this mark, and his MM hire also contributes to his score. We almost all want him to do more in trades and FA, but apart from his first poor year, the (limited) stuff he has done has been very good. Pickett, Woodson and Grant are pretty good names to have on the balance sheet. TT could potentially have been marked higher, as there is a bigger body of work (while at the Packers), to judge him on. However there are one or two spots where he maybe could have done better. Getting a B+ is still a very good mark, in my book.

Perhaps though, you are bored with all the MM and TT talk. In that case, beyond these two headliners, I wonder if you have any thoughts about the position coaches. For example, what do we think of Kurt Shottenheimer now ? Is Joe Philbin a bit of a lame-duck offensive co-ordinator with McCarthy calling the plays (viewed a little like Sherm Lewis or Tom Rossley). Is Winston Moss the hottest coach we have (he is the assistant head coach, which makes him tougher for other teams to poach). How much praise and how much stick should coaches Jerry Fontenot and the more senior James Campen take for their efforts with the O line ? Is Jimmy Robinson (WR coach) seriously underrated, given what the WR's are doing ?

Look forward to your podcast as always........cheers.

ps. If you are pin-sticking, then you could add a pin to Bristol, England, which is where I live.

As challenged by Chris & Dave, I think I've got the answer to your "trivia" question on the 1996 fumble return against the 49ers.

Source: http://www2.jsonline.com/packer/arc/0403/pack106.html

"Green Bay recovered the momentum on the very next play when cornerback Craig Newsome picked up an Adam Walker fumble and returned it 31 yards for a touchdown."

But then I could be wrong blink.gif

As always, a great show. After my first ever transatlantic trip to The Tundra for the Viqueens game, here's hoping we can finish strong, get our starters back and fit and get our revenge on Romo & Co come January.

It's a great question, but rather than answer it here let me just say that we will very likely cover that topic in one of our post season wrap up shows. We usually do at least a couple of post-season podcasts where we discuss "grades" for players, coaches and the front office.

But for now I will just say that it is hard to fault your suggestions...to this point. Let's see how this plays out. The next month or six weeks is likely to color the situation to a significant degree.

Thanks to all for telling us where you are! Looking forward to hearing more locations so that I can properly decorate Dave's map.

Hey Chris and Dave...just got done listening to the newest podcast. I definately agree with a few points, such as we need depth at CB. isn't it a good sign that we are worried about backups now as a point of weekness? But I would think that it is the perfect time to get a CB with a high pick and let him learn behind Harris and Woodson. But we also need another vet if one of those guys go down. A defense is as strong as its weakest corner.

I also agree that Favre has not come through in many of these big games the past few years. I know announcers always say Favre is a master at comebacks and they show the stats but I never thought of Favre as the greatest comeback QB, especially in big games. That being said, I will take Favre over anyone and we've been blessed to have him all these years (although I have not had any Brett Favre dreams to contribute to the book).

And for the map, I am living in Port au Prince, Haiti. I began listening 2 years ago in Bahrain though (so maybe it can count even though I am no longer there...but it is where I "found" you). Keep it up! PETE

Hey Chris and Dave,

I've been wantig to write several times allready just to thank you for your great podcasts.

I've been a solid listener from the beginning...which should be 3 years by now...I think.

I'm listening to you all the way over in Hamburg, Germany. I'm born danish but live in Hamburg now for almost 20 years.

Your podcast is the only chance for me, to hear the thoughts of other die-hard packers fans as of course no local news station is covering any of this. :-)

So whenever a new show is up, I imidiatly put it on my iPod and listen to it on my way to work.

It's just fantastic to me to be able to get some more information from locals and to hear someone is as happy over a win, and as smattered by a loss.

So please...keep up the good work and put a flag on that map for me in northern germany!

Cheers and thanks
Henrik
