Full Version: I'm expecting a big game from Kampman vs. the Cards

I've attended 3 Cardinals games this year. They have some decent talent at the skilled positions, but their O-line is as bad as ever. Oliver Ross, the right tackle for the Cardinals is bad. He's whiffed on blocks the last couple of weeks that have led to fumbles. Since Matt Lienart is left handed, Ross has to protect Matt's backside. I'm expecting Kampman to take advantge of Ross and have a big game for us this week.

If Fitzgerald comes back this week from a pulled hamstring, their receivers in Boldin and Fitgzerald can hurt us. But hopefully some big plays from Kampan can offset that. It's not certain yet if Fitzgerald will be ready to go yet this week.

I myself am wondering about that O-line too. I watched them play a couple early games and it looked horrific, then they protected Leinart halfway decent in the Monday Night Bears game, giving him a chance to make plays at least, though their run blocking was dreadful. Anyone wondering about the importance of the line should look to Edgerrin James and wonder if he really went from a solid 4.0-4.5 yrds/att back who late in last season had 80+ runs of eight yards or more (Alexander and Barber were the closest with fifty-some--stat heard on Sunday Night Football late in the season) to a 2.7 yrds/att clown with the longest run achieved a mere 14 yards.

Kampman has been great: 6.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles, matching his career highs already. I'd love to see him school a bad tackle, even more I'd like to see him smear Leinart's pretty-boy face all over those lovely new blades of grass. Beat him up and take his stuff! Too bad they didn't still have the carpet and we could give him rug burn too. I hope he's picking dirt out of his mouth all monday morning. tongue.gif

HELL YEAH!!!

I think this might be a big game for KGB, too. 'Zona's line is terrible.

It'll be our D-line vs their WR all day. Our line isn't terribly fast, but neither are their receivers. If we get some direct pressure on the QB, Leinart's going to be pining for the beaches of CA all day. Give him a little time and he'll find his guys.

Edge can't be discounted, but I certainly don't see him turning the corner on Hawk Barnett and Poppinga, and I don't think their line has the mauling power to push him up the middle. That's a lot of pressure on Leinart

This game is at Lambeau.

This is one of those games that Favre could get 4 TD passes. 2 more such games and he ties the record!

The rumble by the bay!

Harris + Woodson vs Fitzgerald + Boldin

Ohhh! I hope it is cold. Forecast 28F to 44F and 30% rain.

Welcome to Green Bay Matt, remember this game for the rest of your career...(steve young)

Pitch a tent in the backfield Kampman

Oops, you're right.

Make that frozen dirt then. I hope it's a chilly night in Lambeau and he freezes his little SoCal butt off. Will hurt even more when KGB and Kampman are popping his head off the Frozen Tundra. biggrin.gif

I'd take their corners over ours... plus Jennings isn't even going to play. So unless Chris Francies has a big breakout game (hmm, I'd give it a 25-1 shot), Brett's not going to hang up a ton of TDs on them... unless they're of the "5 yard dump off to Green/ Morency/ Herron who takes it 7 yards for the score" variety.

Packers 20, Cards 17

Kampman, 2 sacks (maybe an extra late in the game if the tackle tires) and a FF

Plus Hawk gets his first INT smile.gif

I still expect Mr Fav-re to get quite a few tds. I think with the reciever corps decimated as they are, the TE are finally going to shine. I feel like colledge, or cliffy is going to get things tightened up and free up the TE for Favres disposal. I really feel while pretty boy is eating dirt, Favre is going to be gasping for cold air as he tackles big Bubba twice!

I know it's important to get up for a game....but come on.

JK, sorry I couldn't resist.

You thought Kampman would have a good game against the starting RT (Oliver Ross). Now think of what he can do against the backup.

Cardinals | Ross could be benched Week 8
Wed, 25 Oct 2006 16:06:36 -0700

Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green said there would be changes made to the team's offensive line for the Week 8 game. OT Oliver Ross is expected to be benched for the game.

YES, I called it. Matched the record from that game. And without snow. I think I love zone blocking. smile.gif
