With people already speculating on Mike McCarthy's 2010 replacement, I found THIS VIDEO at the Packers' official website to be quite interesting.

Classy move on Barnett's part. The team seemed to agree with what he said too.

It was classy on his part, I agree, but I think the game ball deserved to go to Charles Woodson...

Interesting move by Barnett. MM got the gameball- OK. At the end of the season, unless something drastic changes, I hope he gets a pink slip. No, not hyperbole, but real questions:
1. Why did the Packers come into the two games against Minny looking flat?
2. Why did it take the coaching staff weeks into the regular season to decide that the OL's "pad level" was too high? Isn't that for the OTA's and TC and exhibition season?
3. Why the lack of commitment to a running game- especially when its working?
4. Why are ST's so terrible?
5. Why does MM constantly promise to fix something (such as penalties), and it never ends?

I'll stop here for the sake of relative brevity. However, it really seems as if MM simply either (a) doesn't know how to evaluate coaching talent; (cool.gif doesn't know how to motivate a team (the question being- did MM motivate the team, or did the team, with their offensive meeting, motivate themselves? Oops, I just answered another question; © doesn't know how to get things done- thus the constant repitition of basic mistakes (penalties, in particular).

the monkey soul
I wonder if the content of your post Ricky is applicable to this thread.

Do you think he deserved the gameball from Barnett after this game?
PackerJB
Gotta love behind the scenes stuff like that!

Not just inapplicable, but its also a solid wall of assumptions.

You should have stopped long before that point because no one cares.

Cool video.

The game ball should've gone to Woodson who lit a fire under everyone's rear-end! MCCarthy, no soup for you! IF and this is a big if, he can get this team in the playoffs, then he deserves a game ball!

Let's not get some irrational exhuberance that McCarthy righted the ship. Let's not forget that Thompson drafted Lee, Harrell, Brohm, etc. and they are no where to be found when we had much higher needs at the time. Lee was a reach as was Brohm! By the way, I'm still peaved at our scouting group. What the hell is going at 1265?

I'll be happy if we finish 10-6, make the playoffs and knock the Vikings out. Don't have to get to the Super bowl, just knock the Vikings, out! I would consider this two major accomplishments and would retain McCarthy for 1 more year.
We have got to draft much better! Last year was a exceptional draft! But it took them four years to get it right!

Wait, let me see if I understand your logic... MM shouldn't be given the game ball and no one should think he has righted the ship because... TT drafts bad? I mean, we can go down the huge list of people TT drafted that has helped contribute to the team... Rodgers, Collins, Hawk, Jennings, Jolly, Bishop, Crosby, and I could go on and on. I don't really see how Brohm was a reach, especially saying Rodgers was the only QB on the roster, at the time, and we weren't even sure if Rodgers could produce, yet. I think QB was a huge need, at the time. Yeah, he didn't pan out, but it isn't like GB is missing on draft picks more than any other team.

All this is missing the point, however. Giving McCarthy a game ball shows that the players still do have faith in their coach, which is a big thing. As long as the players have faith in McCarthy, the Packers will be fine.

Woodson AND Barnett got game balls..........Barnett and players wanted to give M3 a game ball for his "taking the brunt of the blame for Tampa" deflecting blame is what I think Barnett said

He took the brunt of the blame??

Geez, what a jerk!!

Oops, wrong thread, sorry!!

Go Pack!!

I'll get off McCarthy's back when they beat Pittsburgh and Baltimore. If they do that I might be a little more sympathetic to his plight. I've been harping about a feeble offensive line for the last five years. Ted and Mike are in this together. Six games left and he needs to win four.
