Sweet -- all we need is for the Bears to bring back Dave Wannstedt now and we're all set.

I think Childress would be an excellent scouting/personnel man.

But as a coach, I think he's a lot like McCarthy, just average.

And the rumors are already starting about next year.

Favre returning to Vikings next season?

There could be other factors that determine whether Brett Favre, who already is signed for $13 million for the 2010 season, returns for another season. Those could include what players return to give him a chance to win a Super Bowl, who the coach and staff are, and the team's ownership status in its quest for a new stadium. It would seem satisfying enough for Favre if he gets the Vikings to a Super Bowl that there would be no point in returning. On the other hand, a rumor has surfaced that Favre recently purchased land in Preston, Minn., near Rochester, for deer hunting. That might be an indicator he intends to stay awhile.

Doesn't throw picks anymore. Mentors the young players. Now perhaps makes up his mind before the season even ends.

what's next? No late season decline? No playoffs implosion? rolleyes.gif

I wonder if Chilly doesn't get a bad rap, though. The teams has improved every years since his first year and will win the division for the 2nd straight year. If we judge our coaches by results, you have to say he's done a pretty good job.

10 weeks into this season, hard to argue. But then that's why they play 16 games.

Childress still makes foolish game decisions. Don't underestimate the insane talent he has on that team. You take that personnel and there isn't a coach in the league that couldn't win 10 games with them. I mean seriously, that team has some insane personnel. They have the best OL/DL combo in the entire NFL. Best running game in the NFL. Good linebackers and defensive backs. Elite QB (albeit old). Talented, but somewhat raw, wide receivers. Good TE.

That team defines the word "stacked."
