Signings:
- Packers re-sign OG Daryn Colledge, C Jason Spitz, NT Ryan Pickett, ILB Brandon Chillar, FS Nick Collins, DE Johnny Jolly, FB John Kuhn, and SSAtari Bigby. Collins and Jolly are the only ones that will get good contracts. Chillar, Spitz, and Bigby will get mid-level contracts. Colledge, Pickett, and Kuhn will get low level contracts which they bulk of their money will come up front.
- Packers sign RB Darren Sproles (San Diego) and CB Stanford Routt (Oakland). While Sproles is a big name, he won’t garner huge money. He’ll get a good contract, but he won’t break the bank. Routt is good depth at CB and won’t require a big investment.

Draft:
Round 1
*Rolando McClain/ILB/Alabama
6’4”/256 lbs.
- One of, if not the best LB in the entire country. He’s big, he’s strong, he’s fast, he’s very intelligent, and he’s a very dangerous football player. Has a very firm grasp on Nick Saban’s complex 3-4 defense and knows what every player’s responsibility is on every play. Would be the perfect impact player to add to the defense and would be the future leader. Will make everyone on defense better just because of his presence.

Round 2a (from Washington)
Jason Fox/OT/Miami
6’6”/314 lbs.
- Very large and highly athletic tackle who has been a consistent starter at right and left tackle since his true freshman season (has allowed very few, if any sacks in his career). With good coaching this guy could turn into one of the top OTs in the NFL.

Round 2b
Myron Rolle/S/Florida St.
6’2”/223 lbs.
- One of the best Safeties in college who could have been a 1st rounder last year but opted to study in England for a year as a Rhodes Scholar. Highly intelligent and athletic and just an all around solid player, could back up either Safety spot.

Round 3
Kyle Calloway/OT/Iowa
6’7”/315 lbs.
- Very consistent, tough, intelligent Tackle. Has played on the right and left sides but fits best on the right. Has the size, ability, and intelligence to start early on and hold down the RT spot for many years. Would compete with Lang for time at RT.

Round 4
To Washington

Round 5
Cam Thomas/NT/North Carolina
6’3”/328 lbs.
- Big, wide bodied NT who has a surprising amount of athleticism and can collapse the pocket.

Round 6
Brandon Deadrick/DE/Alabama
6’4”/296 lbs.
- Plays in Nick Saban’s 3-4 and has been a consistent force at DE. Holds up against the run and can do some things when rushing the QB.

Round 7
Carl Ihenacho/OLB/San Diego St.
6’3”/256 lbs.
- Athletic, developmental pass rusher. Has great measurables and has the ability to be a solid 3-4 OLB.

I'm assuming the flip of picks with Washington
has something to do with Aaron Kampman??

Go Pack!!

I think you're minimizing the impact and importance of Pickett and Chillar, and hopefully both get "respectful" contract offers to stay.

I'm assuming we give a #4 pick and Kampmann and get a 2nd rounder?

I don't like the Sproles signing... too small to play meaningful snaps. Would we (Packers) even know how to use a 3rd-down type? hmmmm... because of return ability, maybe I do like this signing.

Great call on the 2 OT's early... LOVE it!

I think the Packers will let Pickett go, as B.J. Raji appears ready for a starting role.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Packers made no attempt to sign Chillar either.

CB Stanford Routt will probably be a RFA due to the uncapped year in 2010.

I think Sproles has shown he can be an effective back in the league. It would fit the niche, keep Grant and not waste high pick on a 3rd down back.

I am down with a ILB, I thought they could of used one last year.

There does appear to be some potential free agents LBs will be availible if they do not get locked up.

I would like to pretend that GB could get Chester Taylor...

Sorry guys I overlooked that KEY detail.

Yes, in this scenario I said the Packers franchise and trade DE Aaron Kampman and a 4th round pick to the Washington Redskins for their 2nd round pick (which should be a top 10 pick at the rate they're going).

I guess what I consider a mid-level contract is maybe a better than what you're thinking. Chillar will get more money than he did when he came to GB but it won't be a high dollar or long contract. He hasn't performed that well. He's been effective in certain situations but as an every down ILB, he has been just average.

Pickett has 2 things going against him: age (30) and position. NT's aren't going to command big money unless your name is Vince Wilfork or Casey Hampton or Jamal Williams. Pickett isn't in the same league with those guys, as a NT or 43 DT. He's been good, no doubt, but he isn't going to get the same money he got when he came to the Packers (4 years, 14 million). They Packers will make him a fair offer, it won't be that much, and honestly I think he'll take it. From what I understand, he really likes it in GB...apparently it's a good fit for him and his family.
