Vots
Just read this post on PFT. Currently 10 Vikings players are leading their respective positions right now in the NFC, plus Favre at #2 behind Brees. Which would mean, if the voting ended today, there would be 11 Vikings.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be any Vikings players, a few deserve it, but 11? Looks like I'm going to vote a few more times this year instead of the normal one time.

Haven't we seen this before? Anyone remember the pro bowl in 2008 when the NFC sent 12 cowboys? What happens is these teams have a ton of attention drawn to them pre-season, and they start the season 7-0 or 8-1 and live up the the hype. It causes band wagoners and those are the one's who account for most of the votes. Even if Brett Favre had a halfway decent year with the Vikes, he would have gone to the Pro Bowl because people like a story.

Favre leads the league in passer rating. He is on course for a career high in completion percentage, and a career low in interceptions. Maybe that will change over the rest of the season, but for now it's hard to begrudge him a Pro bowl nomination.

Whether the voting should open before midseason is quite another issue.

John Sullivan? Fahu Tahi?

I am not questioning whether or not he should go to the pro bowl. As of now, he certainly deserves to go. All I was saying was that as soon as he put on the purple uniform and the entire focus of the NFL shifted to the Vikings, as long as he didn;t completely blow it, he was a shoe-in.

Obviously Favre and Petersen deserve to be on the list due to their stats. And Hutchinson and Allen as well.

But I have a really bad red mark on my forehead from aggressive facepalming over the Heath Farwell and John Sullivan selections.

Egads the Pro-Bowl voting seems to get more and more comical every year.
