When asked if Lambeau Field holds a special place in NFL lore, Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Roy Williams responded:
"It doesn't bother me none..." "It's just another stadium. "It's there. It's historic. But you get over it after your first time playing there.''

While I am not much on the whole locker room angle, I think this one calls for the men who have the honor of playing at Lambeau Field needing to show. Defend the House that Curly and Vince built and kick some cowpoke arse!!!!

Actually, Lambeau has not been a safe haven for the Packers for years. The Packers players don't seem to play with any more urgency when they are playing at home, and the Packers record the last few years has been poor at home. I do agree, the Packers should turn around their season, but I really don't believe the players feel any particular pride or affinity at playing at home. I believe that is a "fan thing" now. For these players (all around the NFL), it seems "a game is a game". As long as they get their paychecks, great. They lost at home? Well, we'll have to look contrite for the media and fans. But, how many players on the team actually know the history in Green Bay? Most are from other states, and, I believe, hold more allegience to their colleges than the team they play for, when it comes to pride in losing in "their house". Granted, there are exceptions, such as "old school" players like Butler, Henderson and Brown. However, they were playing on the Packers when the Packers were worldbeaters. Not when the Packers were being beaten by NFL dregs (read:TB).

I would really like to believe these men are playing for Packer pride, honor and history. However, I believe they are playing for a paycheck, and if they win- great. If they lose- they still get a paycheck- this year.

I wish the Pack had a little more swagger.

Packer Pride comes with experience. The more players are part of the team and part of the community, the more they associate with the Packers and their history. Being the youngest team in the league for the 4th straight year does not help. Listen to a player like Ahman Green and what it means to be back with the Packers. Younger players can't relate.

Roy Williams has played in Lambeau Field seven (7) times now.

Roy lost on his first 5 visits to Lambeau Field and gave proper reverence to its "historic lore" when visiting each time.

Last season he visited as a Dallas Cowboy and he and Dallas won for the first time there in his career and the club's history...

This led to Williams cocking off about how it was just another stadium before yesterday's game

Well Roy, part of its "historic lore" is you are now 1 - 6 at Lambeau Field and Packer fans will be happy to remind you and Cowboy fans of this any time you need a fix of the reality of your records here in Wisconsin.

Roy says Lambeau Field is no big deal he can fumble and drop passes there as well as any other stadium.

I'm sure it would make you happier if he would have given a Vince quote or talked about being scared or getting teary eyed at the site of the stadium but I would think to most players it is historic but just another stadium.

Some times Packer fans need to think beyond their small town.

Seems like a very odd item to get worked up about.....

Roy is right. Lambeau is OK, but it lacks the history of Ford field and the intimacy of sitting amongst 100,000 people watching a football game on a 200 foot wide plasma screen TV in Texas stadium. Also, all the luxury boxes are way up high and the common man gets to sit right up close to the field! What a disgrace...
