Big Dave
PPR (1pt. per catch) 12 teams. Keeper league.

Team A: Larry Fitz
Team B: Ray Rice

Team A is WR heavy. Team B is RB heavy.

This trade got vetoed, and I'm at a loss why. Anyone care to explain, because I really can't see it.

Sounds like you're in a league with a bunch of dicks. I hate when people veto a trade just because it makes both teams stronger. Vetos should be reserved for lopsided trades.

Basically, there's nothing wrong with your trade except that the rest of the league is scared that it'll make both your teams stronger. Which is kind of the entire point of trading.

You'd like to see the Ray Rice owner give up a little bit more, but it's certainly not something that should be vetoed. I wouldn't suspect collusion, which is the only justification for veto.

Vetoed by owners or by commish?

Owners. 6-1.

I got one vote. I'm the Rice owner, BTW.

Wow. That's really lopsided!

I'm not a fan of the players right to vote on these things. Even if you specify that owners should only vote to veto if they suspect collusion, they're going to vote based on what's best for them, and both of you improving their team is bad for the rest of the owners.

Is either one of you out of the playoff picture? If the guy you're trading with is like 2-7 or something and you're 6-3, it may look suspicious.

Points for both players have got to be pretty close in that PPR league right?? Not sure why they would veto the trade. You should put up a message asking why

Very close, actually. The difference is Rice's rushing yards.

It's my first year in three-year keeper, and it's the kindl where you can keep as many players as you like, but it affects your draft status. I love it, but I'm new the new guy of course, and I'm pretty sure my 7-2 record has alot to do with the veto. I mean, the team has been at the bottom the first two years and about 4 guys seem to always finish at the top.

-I inherited a team of Brady, Hightower, Stewart, Holmes, Marshall, Royal, and Grant.

Besides Grant, not one single player from that original roster is on my squad. I traded em away for picks and players and came away with SJax in a player for player deal. Then my draft consisted of(in no specific order) Rice, Hester, Crabtree, Donald Brown, Mendenhall, Maclin, Carson Palmer, Burleson, Walter, etc.

Basically I layed the foundation of my team for the future, but miraculously, I keep winning now. That's why I thought, hey, Rice is total stud, but if I can get my hands on a legit #1 WR, I better do it. Some prefer the stud back, some prefer the stud WR. So, I took my chances with this deal. I'll start Mendenhall and SJax here on out, but now I got Fitz to start instead of a Hester, Burleson, Holmes/Crabtree/Walter combo.

You think I did right?

As for an update, about the deal, sorry I got to ramblin'....The league commish is going to pass it through and it issued a warning about vetoing deals. So basically it's...

1 Me
0 Rest of the League

With about 10 minutes to go in the 4th.

Glad to know the commish took this problem into their own hands and did the right thing.
