PackerChatters > PackerChatters > Green Bay Packers News Talk > Mark Murphy, Ted Thompson, Mike McCarthy, and Aaron Rodgers
Lambeau5
Aaron was on the show tonight and at the end he was asked about the upcoming game. He said he really does expect to win (obvious response) but then went on to say the he isnt just saying that because he was on the show but that they had an interesting team meeting today and.......then the damn credits rolled and a commercial came on. What the heck.

Was anyone in the audience and know what he had to say about the "interesting meeting"?

The meeting was filled with all kinds of things:

The coordinators introduced themselves to the players.

OL got new Lineman 101 books.

Barnett showed the team the proper way to karate chop

JerMicheal Finley revealed on his twitter if its a big game this week or not

Special Teams coach handed out gold stars for great play

McCarthy finally got to talk about pad level with the whole team

Justin Harrell got dressed to show the team what he looks like in a uniform

Barbre was blocking the door to the meeting so Crosby bullrushed him back about 10 yards

Collins went to the wrong room, and blamed it on cramps

The Offensive line was practicing bagging groceries at a local store, ensuring all fans nobody gives up more sacks than they do.

All in all, it was a productive meeting.

No, but I am curious as to how Rodgers finished that sentence. Certainly one of you great fans had to be there. smile.gif

The thread is far from trashed. Im sure if anybody knows the answer they will post it. Its not like we prevented anyone from giving the answer if they knew it.

I gotta say I got a real good laugh out of GM's post and the way this season is going, I appreciate the comic relief.

No I don't know the answer either mad.gif

However; a guess at the meeting- One of two.....

1.) "well what do we do now? We couldn't block and score and we followed that up with no tackling, no sacks and no stopping the other team." (taken loosely from McKay when the Bucs first started) biggrin.gif

2.) " Who's on First? What's on second? Who's at home? " (MM) (taken from Abbot and Costello) laugh.gif

j/k

But I can give the team 2 pieces of advice....

First one to A-Rod- "Run Forest Run!!!!"

2nd to the Defense- " Turn the Dogs Loose!!!"

The only thing that I can think of that would make for an "interesting" team meeting at this point is if McCarthy walked in and told them he was going to start holding players accountable, regardless of who they are or where they were drafted.

Hold on to the ball too long Aaron and we're putting Flynn in. Make one more stupid mistake that gives up a sack and you're replaced Colledge. Don't get open Jennings and we're putting someone else in who can. Any more idiotic penalties at key moments by anyone and they're out for two games.

Sound drastic? Sure, but I just have to wonder if maybe a light bulb came on in McCarthy's head in watching Hawk's performance in the TB game. He'd been basically benched for non-performance and was given another chance due to Chillar's injury. What happened, he came out and had one of the best games of his career.

IMO, this team has too many players who've been handed starting positions and aren't ever challenged because of who they are. Maybe if that changes so will the performance of the team.

That's walking a fine line. If he goes around benching every player who makes one mistake, he'll lose what's left of the lockerroom. If he hasn't lost it completely already (which he probably hasn't completely).

As I posted in another thread, I have no problem benching Rodgers if he's being told to stop holding the ball and won't respond.
