Full Version: This is the week Rodgers gets seriously hurt

Each week Rodgers is getting beat up more and more. With Dallas coming to town i'm pretty confident that our embarrassment of a offensive line will get Rodgers knock out for the game .They should be good for 6- 8 sacks. Get rid of this zone not blocking bull s**t and go to a power running game. The linemen should be huge Like what Dallas & Philly have. When it gets cold the power running game is what gets the job done. There is a good young left tackle by the name of Mc Neil on the San Diego Chargers who is going to be a free agent in 2010. This guy is a franchise left tackle in his prime (26yrs old) taylor made to protect Rodgers blind side for the next decade. He is a must for this team. It would be a shame to have Rodgers get a career ending injury. You don't get very far with a horrible offensive line. We made Tampa Bay's defense look like the steel curtain.

Our offensive line is doing just fine in the run game. It's the bigger, 'power'-style linemen (Clifton, Barbre, Lang) who are struggling in pass protection. The zone scheme is a minor issue. It's coaching, talent, playcalling and the ridiculous practise of inserting new players at new positions on the line from one game to another.

I'm guessing this is the week that our OL plays well and maybe we eek out a win. The Wisconsin media and fans alike will do a complete 180 and forget about the issues this team has and we will be forced to listen to tales of how the loss in TB righted the ship. We then will go out a lay a few more eggs.

I'm fearing you're right. No way in hell Rodgers holds up 16 games with this line. He's going to get pounded into the ground one of these weeks and not get back up. I'm really starting to think he could be the next David Carr. At this point, the guy would have happy feet if he were playing behind the 90's Dallas Cowboys offensive line.

Yeah, I'm also concerned about the David Carr effect. I think Rodgers is a very good QB, and he's tough as nails mentally. But sooner or later it's got to get into his head. He's going to start seeing defenders who aren't there.

DeMarcus Ware is going to have him for breakfest. I almost wish they would put Flynn in there to be the sacrifical lamb until we can rebuild the offensive line. Even at 4-4 this season is pretty much over. We're going to get Rodgers killed, and for what?

Wow, I was thinking the exact same thing at work last night. 1st round pick Carr had good talent, great precision 60% completion rate, but due to the constant pounding from poor protection he was ruined, and barely makes an adequate back up now.

Lets hope things get fixed before this happens to rogers!

You are exactly right. They don't even run zone plays that much anymore.

They ran for a 5.5 yard average Sunday. Blame McCarthy for abandoning it. It's not like they were down 2 scores and had a legitimate reason to get away from it. It's sickening....even more maddening when you think about how bad they have been in protection.

Carr's career average gain is 6.4 yards/attempt. Rodgers this season is averaging 8.8 yards/attempt.

Carr completed lots of passes because he seldom attempted a pass more than five yards downfield. Rodgers' sack rate is high for the opposite reason — he won't check down.

No kidding. THe sideline reporter came out at halftime and said McCarthy believes we can run against this defense and he is planning for a heavy dose of the run in the second half.

I think Grant had 83yds at halftime and finished with 13 more yards - 96 total. So, we obviously had success, the coach realized it and even stated a plan to go run heavy in the second half and after the first unsuccessful drive we abandon the run! Frustrating!

I'm glad someone mentioned this.

I saw him pass up on a wide open checkdown at least twice Sunday, and a few times during the first Viking game. And thats with our limited view. I'm sure we'd see a lot more with better film.

He's just pressing right now IMO.

Rodgers won't finish the Dallas game. The oline is more than pathetic. These guys wouldn't even start for another team, yet there starting for the Packers. Unreal.
