Has anyone ever tried one of these?
Im trying like hell to save some money this winter on my gas bill. I have 2 furnaces running and my bills can get up to $500 a month. We are in the midst of remodeling our 90 year old farmhouse and I have only gotten around to replacing windows and insulating walls in certain rooms. Needless to say it can get drafty.
I was looking into one of these Eden heaters and from what I have read they are inexpensive to run.
I am going to put in a woodburning insert in our fireplace but I need to do about $3500.00 worth of work to it before it can be done so its not exactly at the top of my list.
Anyone have any experience with these?

I have an insert in my fireplace. I installed it myself. It was a frustrating job. I can heat my entire house with it, approx 2000 sq feet. I like it.

Id like to do it myself but the guy who came out said the inside of the fireplace needs to be lined with metal and the chimney also needs some work. Its something I really dont want to do myself since I have no experience. The last thing I need is my house going up in flames. Im about $20,000 into this money pit now. I dont need it going up in smoke.

I added the stainless steel liner myself. If you do it watch out it is sharp and will cut the hell out of you.

I wouldn't touch 'em Luvda. If you google them you'll see they are just a very expensive space heater with very carefully worded ads.

Oreck has one like it and it works great.
35$ for an oil-filled electric radiator. I have one in the basement and one in the living room. Silent, effective, and doesn't dry the air.
I've heard blu-flame heaters are the way to go though, if your looking to spend that kind of money.
