Well another time we played Favre and sadly enough ...Favre has been the Difference maker in both of these games.. He has not really taken any risks or Gambled...as in Times Past...

So Lets Get on with it.. Shall we....

THE GOOD: ( NOT A LOT)

Rodgers showed a lot of Moxy Today... He is defenitley Growing up and Played a good solid 2'nd half when the Offense as a WHOLE started clicking...We were better today then Before on 3'rd down...with 44 %

5 Sacks... Alot better then 8 ... So there is Improvement...

THE TEAM NEVER QUIT..That Second Half did show me that... By the Time the Vikings Scored and were up 24-3 ..I figured this team would pack it in....

Clay Mathews appears to be the real deal....

Oh and Green looks like he still has some in the tank....This may help us later in the year.....

THE BAD:

After a good Game Last WEEK Hawk hardly Played... mmmmmm....NO pressure on Favre... Everytime we did get some pressure they were bad throws or tips... Capers needs to devise a better game plan if we meet again... And I think we might....

Offensive Line did look bad at times..But this is a VERY YOUNG line and Rodgers Still had some time...I counted at least 3 of the 5 Sacks on Rodgers holding it or trying to make some bigger play...Rodgers needs to address that--Scratch ( MM and Clements needs to Address that With HIM along with Philbin)

Defense Looked good but Penalties at the wrong time gave extra yards and points... ( I Stated before the Pack had to Play there A game to Win....) and we had 6 ..none as costly as Jollys....Even though he only retaliated after Taylor shoved him...I know I know the second one always gets flagged....

To Many Defense players trying to make the big play when it was not needed...Collins should have just Cracked Berrian on that TD Catch and they would have had to gone for 3 and we would only been down by 8....

THE UGLY:

THE WHOLE FIRST HALF..... Get the Ball on a turnover and we have it close to the 20 and we don't go for the Juggler with our recievers... on the first play...Unexcusable... That could have set the Tone for the Whole game....Instead Harvin does on the KO return..( sets the Tone that is)

THE KO return COVERAGE ..INEXCUSABLE... you just kept them on there side of the field and caused a turnover...Keep Doing it ...It was working on the SQUIBB KICKS....And its not like we cant cover ..we held CRIBBS in Check pretty good....

Blown Coverages by Barnett and Tramon a few today... at least that was adjusted after Half...But that Harvin TD catch once again the guys trying to make the big plays instead of tackling...

OH and the Ugliest ..Thanks BF for 2 losses of the 3 we have this year...which prior to June or July hard to keep track... whichever month he deemed to come back I was VERY optimsitic we coud take the North....

All In all we have now lost to the Queens twice this year... We have a tough schedule ahead that inlcudes the Steelers..Ravens and such... So maybe 2 more losses at the most I hope ...and we go 11-5 which I think still makes the playoffs and everyone is back to 0-0.....( I Think the Cards went 9-7 and to the SB)

I am still Optimistic...in a sense.. This team shows no QUIT...and this is repeating myself.....Any other team after the other team has a 17-3 halftime lead then scores on its first possession to take it to 24-3 would have folded up Tents...We will relish that one day...( THE FACT THEY DONT QUIT) and that day will come sooner rather then Later....

Now on to the next game........

Hawk didn't spend much time on the field today, so I think singling him out is a bit unfair -- he can't make plays from the sidelines.

He can be "solid" on the sidelines and Barnett can join him. I looked foward this game all week, and with much talk about our offensive line woes, I noticed our linebacking was poor in my opinion.

Pass rush was our biggest problem there -- when we sent Kampman and Matthews they couldn't get pressure on Favre.

Hawk had a strip, Barnett had a few heads-up plays that stuck out to me. They were a big part of the reason Peterson only had that one big run. I'm not sure I'd put this on them.

Capers game plan for the two times we played the Vikings sucked!!! There is a reason he is 0 -8 against Farve. He simply doesnt know what to do.

Sky.....Just simply Stated he was not Playing Much Today...Not Singling him out on Bad Play... Atcually was curious as to why he did not play much after Last weeks game...

Ugly was the way they came out. Flat. You can't tell me they weren't up for this. The first half was absolutely shameful. But you know what? I can be pissed about this game but the bottom line is that the Vikings are a better team. They just are. They can get to the qb with 4 and never have to blitz. Their offensive line is stellar, and we all know what Favre can do when he has time.

The disadvantage of our O-line vs their D-line is simply too much to overcome. Sprinkle in the fact that we can't get to Favre because their O-Line is better than our D, and you have a recipe for "almost impossible to win."

Yep. I agree. I really wanted to beat the Vikings this year. I think the best chance I have is to root for the Saints! Don't want to see BF in the Super Bowl wearing purple.

Pretty simple formula. Vikings had much better Special Teams, and they pressured the QB much better than the Packers did. There's the game. Harvin looks like a better pick than Raji at this point wouldn't you say?

Raji is going to be a good player. The two aren't really comparable imo. Raji is playing one of the toughest positions a rookie can play. Usually takes time to come into it. Plus Harvin will be seeing a 4 game suspension for mary jane before his rookie contract expires.

Was this said in desperation to find a positive?? No matter who is responsible for the sacks, 5 of them is unacceptable

No Way this pans out, I'm as positive as anybody when comes to my team, but these kind of statements are a charade for the desperate.

I'm sorry, but usually isn't it the WR position that is supposed to take a year or two to develop? Some do well, but one average, defensive linemen make a contribution just as quickly as a WR, if not sooner. The one thing that Harvin had going for him is that he was given alot of positions, but not alot of options at each, and Harvin is in a position where the spotlight is much brighter. If Raji does his job well, then Clay gets the credit because Raji held is position. And the comment about suspension has no relevance whatsoever. Even if he is suspended for 4 games in 5 YEARS, if he continues playing this well, most would agree that's a good deal.

As for the people clamoring for more pressure on Favre, keep in mind that Favre burned the Packers almost every time they brough pressure. The issue isn't the scheme (hopeful on that, though Capers is 0-8 against Favre), it's the players who are in the scheme. Not that they aren't talented, just that this is the first year of a transition to the 3-4...people who expected us to be the Steelers (who, btw, didn't do much against Favre either) were unrealistic. The fact is that the Vikings are a team that's built to win now while the Packers are still in transition (to what, I don't know yet).

No way that 5 is acceptable...But To Really analyze It there was 3 Sacks I counted on Rodgers....so that takes it down to 2 on the LINE breaking down... not Much of a positive... But somehwat...Rodgers needs to throw it away when outside the tackle box....or go to his checkdown quicker....

I'm liking what I'm seeing -Regarding Clay Mathews...Yes...

I don't think he should be returning kickoffs. - Regarding Green...Yes..I agree but he does have some burst left that Is what I liked

No Way this pans out, I'm as positive as anybody when comes to my team, but these kind of statements are a charade for the desperate.

In Regards to this statement-All In all we have now lost to the Queens twice this year...

Nothing Desperate here ... It is just that We can beat Chicago... We can and should beat the Lions , We can and should beat the Bucs... that is 3 more wins.. Gets us to 7-3.....We get SF at home ..We should win that as well... We will have more tapes on Smith prior to that meeting and MM knows Smith.....that is 8-3.....Seattle is at Home aad looks more like a WIN we should get...that gets us to 9-3..... That leaves Ravens, Steelers, Cards.... Which means we have to take 2 of those 3...Ravens and Cards look more probable ...As the Cards could be resting .... and the Ravens have to play at Lambeau.... They Play the Steelers before us... That is a game that could go either way...Ravens are beatable

So 11-5 is not out of reach...It just means that this team is going to have to play better in Special Teams... and also we could go 10-6 ...Could still make the playoffs... and that means all teams in the playoffs start at 0-0.....

What is desperate about that...No Charade... I did not say they would do it... I state it is a Tough Schedule... but we have at least 5-6 Winnable games by all counts....

Stuffin I know you are mostly positive... I am not trying to be overly optimistic... There was more BAD and UGLY from yesterday then any good coming from the game..

The Only Real good was how we played in the second half... we still had breakdowns.. but we played a lot better in the second half....our Offense actually started to play in the 3'rd quarter...The Only Quarter we outplayed them , but that never gets you a win when your opponnent outplays you 3 of 4 quarters...
big apple cheese
Man, I'm pretty disappointed by all the woe-is-me fans (and media) running around today proclaiming that our season is basically over and that the Vikings have sewn up the NFC North. BOLOGNA. Yeah, we lost yesterday.. Yeah it sucked. But the Jets started out red hot last year. Did they win the AFC East? No. In fact, they missed the playoffs. True, the Jets didn't have Adrian Peterson, but still...

I'm not saying we shouldn't be upset about the loss yesterday. Of course we should be upset about the loss yesterday. But Bedard at the Milwaukee J-S saying we're not a good football team? Please. We're plenty good, we have a winning record. And though we've lost 3 games now, we weren't blown out in any of them. Screw Favre. He doesn't matter. What matters is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What matters is that this team picks itself up. And as ugly and pitiful as the 1st half was yesterday, I saw a team that DID pick itself up. I saw a team that did not quit. I saw a team that had every reason to point fingers and pack it in, but didn't. They believed. And they almost came back and won. As a fan, I'm riding with these guys for all 16. No quitters.

It starts again next week in Tampa Bay. One week at a time.

Pull it together Packer Nation.

OH Packer revisited
Big Apple,

You are now banned from this website. The rules clearly state that after a loss we ALL COME HERE TO PISS AND MOAN.

While I certainly don't think we are in the same category as the Vikings, I think people saying we'll be 8-8 is over the top. There isn't a game on the schedule we don't have a reasonable chance of winning. Okay, I'll admit if we go into Pittsburgh and win I would be fairly suprised.
White92
Disappointing, yes. But the Packers are a good team. I would have had doubts if they would have rolled over when down 24-3.

I was disappointed that Capers couldn't get the same amount of pressure the Steelers did running a very similiar scheme..is their personnel that much better than the Pack?

By a thousand miles.

i don't think they are a good team...they should of been, but aren't. over the past two years they are .500 at home and they are just 4-9 in games outside their division...and really don't have an win over an impressive team other than the colts over the past two years.

lets face it, its the same thing week to week...unless they play the junk teams they don't perform. MM's job has to be called into question.
Gregg
Speaking of Percy Harvin, I will never forget Bedard ridiculing that pick when Minny made it. Said he was too small and injury prone.

I thought that he was whistling past the graveyard. I thought he was just what the Vikes needed: the third WR to go with the possession guy in Rice and the speed guy in Berrian. Plus he could run from scrimmage and return kicks.

With Favre back there it makes a huge difference since he sees the field so well and can hit those medium length passes and let Harvin run with the ball.
carnival
the good,we played hard until the end,(p harvins return)

the bad, penalties, letting A Rodgers get hit way too much, and no sacks, not even pressure

the ugly, the booos (i just didn't like it, for the vikes yeah, however, for #4,notso much)

Hey Ray... I dont wear Green and Gold Glasses.... 3 of the sacks were on Rodgers...

I dont like the 3 he took but he clearly was outside the tackle box and could have thrown them away... and I dont like the 5 that were given up.....But the Line play improved in the second half coincedently So did Rodgers...But Maybe you were watching too much Favre...

You can comment all you want on the analysis... But Dont get personal... You have a habit of that....I may not agree with your posts at times But I tend to make sure I dont make a personal statement towards you....

That's déja vu all over again! That was my prediction too and exactly my thought after the game.
