I don't care wether you cheer or boo Brett Favre. personally I would be indifferent and do neither. But Aaron Rogers should get a standing ovation. That's the best signal we, as Packer fans, can send.

I don't think fans should boo Favre out of respect for his career prior to 2008. I also just don't like booing anyways.

I also don't think fans should cheer Favre either. If there wasn't any bad blood, I wouldn't care. St. Louis Cardinals fans give standing ovations to players who left and come back to Busch on another team all the time. But for this instance, it's different. And Rodgers should be getting a huge standing ovation tomorrow afternoon.

Yup. This is almost the bottom line. No matter if you hate Brett Favre or unconditionally love him, our current QB deserves what you say.

I will be screaming from my living room lending further proof to the neighbors that I am crazy. biggrin.gif

St. Louis is a funny town. They still give Warner warm receptions, and he plays for a division rival.

If you can't handle a little booing, then they should leave the NFL. Big deal, that's what I think anyway. Growing up, I loved boos. It meant I was getting to the other team or at least there fans in kind of a Hanson brother type way.

It might be because I live in Lions country, where fans have been forced to endure 50 years of crap football; but there are two (living) Packer QBs that I would never boo, or wish ill will upon. They both helped the team win a Super Bowl.

I might not be thrilled with the way that either of them ended their NFL careers (one as one of the less-noteworthy coaches in franchise history, the other as a Viking), but I wouldn't boo either of them.

Hanson brothers rule!

Useless trivia. The woman Paul Newman does on the (breast shot) is the mother in "A Christmas Story"

To compare Starr to Favre isn't even close. Favre has an ugly ego. Football is a team sport and Favre is far from a team player. I believe he has a love for the game, but he's also out to break records. It's Brett First than it's the team. I hope the Packers never retire the number 4. For all I care, Brett can retire as a Viking, Jet or Falcon.

If Starr would have played under Thompson, he probably would have had his locker shipped backed to Alabama in 1968. And you couldn't argue it. His best years were behind him.

When Favre has as many championships as Starr then the two can be compared.

Nice Interview on ESPN with Fuzzy Thurston....

Thurston says he feels cold and calls him a TRAITOR.....

Thought Fuzzy's wife said it even better.

There was no "I" in team in the 60's nor is there an "I" in team now. The Chanpionship teams Starr was a part of is greater in number than the Championship teams Favre was a part of. So whats you point Starr and Favre can never be compared just like Favre and Rodgers can never be compared or even Rodgers and Starr.
So whats your point other than one is a HOF QB and one will be. Oh and one is in the Packer Ring of Honor and one will be.

That and a nice big bribe to stay retired! smile.gif

What the fans actually did in the game (boo Favre overwhelmingly) was interesting -- shows that the actual sentiment out there amongst Packers fans isn't as divided as the internet would make it seem.

"Brett Favre fans" are like Ron Paul supporters -- big on the internet but not overall.
