Greggy J was on PTI this afternoon.

basically he said:
- he prefers Rodgers to Favre as a QB
- he had a great relationship with Favre on the field
- he did not have a relationship w/ Favre off the field
- he has a great relationship w/ Rodgers both on and off the field (they are friends and know each others' families)
- some fans will boo Favre, some will cheer him and he understands both reactions
- we will win on Sunday.

personally, i can't remember any Packer coming across as a nicer guy than GJ85. and i love that we have 2 great receivers and 0 diva receivers.

i also like that the current Packer players are letting the Packer legends do "dirty work" for them this week.

This is why Rodgers is so well liked. All you hear about is him having cookouts for team bonding or just going and haning out. Favre never did that with his teammates and I think you need to have the closeness that Rodgers has with his teammates. It seems with Favre and the teammates it was just business and that was it. With Rodgers it seems many of these guys will run through a brick wall for him.

In Favre's defense, he had some really great relationships with a number of former Packers that were with the team during the Super Bowl years. It's been pretty clear for awhile that there was a generation gap between Favre and the new-look young Green Bay Packers.

I'm glad that Aaron Rodgers is the leader of the Pack. He's truly awesome in every regard. On the field and off the field. The fact that he's the guy who replaces Brett Favre. . . it really is amazing to me. How long have the Lions, Dolphins and Bears been looking for even a decent QB? And we go from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers. We as Packer fans have been spoiled to have one Hall-of-Famer who's being replaced by a young up-and-comer. I absolutely think that at some point, Aaron Rodgers will win a Super Bowl in Green Bay.

I love that Rodgers takes the time and makes the extra effort to get to know his teammates and have personal relationships with them. I think that it strengthens him as a leader and it makes his team stronger and more tight knit as a group. It makes the men around you want to go to war for you. Good for him.

You nailed it. Too say Favre never had a good relationship with any of his teammates is just not true

Yeah, ask Donald Driver what he thinks of Brett. He was the first to run over and hug Favre after the 1st game. Real people see through the b.s. They earned each others respect over the years.

Though even in Favre's young years only way he would hang out with his teammates is if they where headed to the bar.

Granted, that was one of the things that he and his "friends" did back then. I really think that he kind of closed off from the team after the going sober/Vicodin thing and started focusing his time and attention on his family. Could he have been a little more open and sociablewith his fellow players? Probably. But you really can't say that he didn't care about his teammates or put his family at the top of his list of priorities. Both are admiral things IMO. Favre and Rodgers are two completely different types of players and people. I'm glad to have been there for Favre's career and I'm excited about being able to see how Roder's career unfolds. This is a very big game on a huge stage for our young quarterback.

I have a problem with that generation gap arguement. I think its a lame answer. The fact is Favre just wanted to be that loner (which is fine, its hard to teach an old dog new tricks as they say) because once all his buddies left he just kinda put up his wall and said Im not going to try and be that guy any more and if anyone questions it I can pull the age card.

You dont have to be the best friends in the world to have your teammates and their families over for dinner or a cookout or to watch movies/ other sporting events. Favre loves to hunt and golf plenty of the current packers love that too. Many things are timeless that any generation can talk about and make connections with.

The fact is I think he just got old and set in his way and didnt want to go out of his way any more and that took away from him as a teammate alittle. Sure players respected him and wanted to play for him because of who he was but probably not because they felt like Favre was their brother in arms. More like their general.

Thats way I think palyers will play alittle harder for Rodgers because he is like their brother.

Mike Sherman giving Favre his own locker room was the beginning of all this. Im just saying hahaha.

A young rich guy enjoyed hitting the bar with his friends. Can't fault him for that.

Jennings needs to have a huge game this week. Over 100 yards and a few TD's.

True. Plus he went hunting with Doug Pederson, Wesly Walls, and Craig Nall quite a bit. In fact, they bowhunted together about a 1/2 hour north of where I live a few years back. The farmer that owns the land where they hunted has some cool pics.

Sherman giving Favre his own separate locker was a bad move. For everyone involved.
