There is only ONE scenario in which it is OK to cheer against your team:

Packers are 13-2, already locked up the #1 seed.

Packers playing some NFC team trying to get the last wild card spot.

The Packers losing the last, meaningless game, would cause The Queens/Bears/Lions(lol?) to miss the playoffs.

That is the only situation I would ever find acceptable to root against your team, and even then, it would be hard to root against them.

I don't know that it is possible for me to root against the Packers. I think that if there was some strange scenario where if they won they were out of the playoffs and if they they lost, they were in the playoffs, I'd still root for them to win. I just can't fathom or understand wanting the team to lose.

Here's my view on people who root for the Packers to lose, compliments of Red Foreman:

That would be one helluva strange scenario. biggrin.gif And not possible.

I remember the year that it came down to us or Dallas for the number one pick and I was still rooting for Green Bay to win every game. We won and Dallas didn't - they took Troy Aikman & we took Tony Manderich. I guess I was wrong, maybe there are some times when it's OK to root against your team.

Some apparently think it's ok to root against the Packers in order to expedite the removal of the current leadership (Packers Therapy Dave, I'm looking in your direction wink.gif )

Yeah, even when a better draft pick is on the line, it's hard to root against your team. Would I root against the Packers if them losing kept the Vikings out? Hmmm....

There is a big difference between "rooting against your team" and booing poor play, coaching, or management.

I remember that year too, and was also rooting for The Pack to win despite losing out on the #1 pick. As it turned out it didn't hurt because Aikman came out and said he would refuse to go to Green Bay if we selected him anyway.
