I consider myself a youngster, ya know, I turned 26 this year, but I still feel I have seen my fair share of 'good' football over my existence to consider myself a savvy vet. I'm not just talking about Packers per se, though we have shared some mighty fine moments since my birth, I'm talking about the entire league as a whole.
Ever since I turned 21, I spend my Sundays at a bar(I live in FL, they are never on) watching the Pack of course, but the myriad of games that are on as well. It helps that I play fantasy football, but for the most part I just watch because its football and I love the sport. But this year, it's been awfully tough for me to watch other teams play.
The reason?
There has been so much atrocious football. I mean, bad, BAD, football.
We all know the about the Rams, and Lions, and Chiefs, etc. But I seriously believe there are couple teams with 2-3 wins that are just as bad as the aforementioned.
I mean, the Eagles losing to the Raiders yesterday? That's plain embarassing.
Redskins losing at home, to a talent-devoid Chiefs roster? Almost worse.
Jags are terrible, St. Louis is terrible, the Panthers are garbage, as are the Bucs. Dallas doesn't impress me, the Steelers don't either. Ravens are succeptible, Chargers too. Hell, I think we could win the NFC West if we played in it.
It's like a widespread epidemic, folks.
Hell, even the Giants got throttled by the Saints in what was suppose to be a battle of epic porportions...
So, is it bad football, or just a regular year in the NFL?

Crazy upsets like the Raiders beating Philly happens every year and the Giants probably just had a bad game.
But I don't remember ever seeing this many really bad teams. I mean just terrible. Detroit didn't belong on the same field as us and by all indications we're just an average team right now. And there are several teams just as bad.
I don't know what's going on. Maybe it's because these teams are having to spend so much money year in and year out on high draft picks and most of them aren't worth nearly what they're given.
Plus the elite players rarely hit free agency these days and when they do, they're not wanting to play for the Detroits and Clevelands of the world. They'd rather go somewhere they have a chance to win a ring.
A lot of bad ownership out there, too.

I also don't recall a time when there were so many bad teams. I notice a little bit of lack of heart, or so it appears by a lot of the players on these teams. In my opinion the Titans absolutely quit during the 1st half of that N.E. game yesterday.

Big Dave, there was a time when the Packers were absolutely abysmal. They were the Raiders of the NFL (the Raiders of the last few years). There were times when Detroit had really good teams, ditto the Bears, and years when they were simply awful. The Vikings have usually been either very good or, at worst, middle of the road.
Now, definitely, there are many bad teams this year. However, this is the fault of the individual teams. Check out who is running Dallas and Washington, and you'll understand immediately why those teams are underachievers. I believe it is also a result of more teams, meaning the talent is spread more thinly- both on the field and in the coaching positions. Fewer impact players, fewer coaches that can actually motivate and lead. Also, sometimes, things get just plain weird. Witness the Titams- 13-3 last year, winless this year. Terrific coach, stable staff- and they stink. Can this change drastically next year? Absolutely. Check out Atlanta and Miami as examples. Or even (though I hate to type this) the Vikings. Some smart personnel moves, and you're on your way up.
