Full Version: How long until Adrian Peterson's broke?

Watching ESPN's pregame coverage, they just did a segment about Adrian Peterson's shoe collection.

His $200,000 shoe collection. Two hundred thousand dollars worth of Nikes.

Somebody needs to point out to this guy that you can blow through any amount of money if you put your mind to it like that -- if Michael Jackson can die massively in debt after all the money he made in his career, blowing through NFL money should be trivial.
adrenaline
chances are he didn't pay a penny for any of those Nike's.
Vinnie
Adrian"Imelda Marcos" Peterson should enjoy it while he can, statistically speaking, his time in the NFL will be short.

Sad world we live in when so much importance is placed on a shoe.

He said he'd spent $200k, not that it was worth that much, so I assume he did.

Man, i would have guessed with that amount spent, he would have had an impressive collection of high end classy shoes to wear out on the town instead of Nikes, but to each their own.

Apparently there's a whole subculture based around tennis shoes -- they have like rare shoes where only a few pairs are made and people will pay top dollar for them.

I don't get it, but I suppose people shell out big money for weirder stuff... I remember reading about someone paying $2m for a super-rare dime, at least you can wear shoes.

Could be a tax write off as a "work related expense"

Wish I had that much money to piss away.

A few worthless observations.....

First I thought upon first read of the thread this pertained to how long before AP is injuried (i.e. "broke") which in honesty, I think will be the first (not necessarily only) thing to derail MN. Unfortunately, I believe Favre is going to look like a worldbeater as long as AP's alive, kicking and taking handoffs. One of the two of them has to get injured to alter MN's chances. sad.gif

Second - Michael Jackson was far from broke in my opinion. I believe he like a number of other wealthy, eccentric (borderline mentally sick and/or wierd) people became "controlled" by those surrounding him. It appears MJ was a drug addict of the first degree. Nobody that dependent can monitor/control/give a s*** about their money.

I couldnt care less about AP's shoes.
