If left tackle Chad Clifton can’t play this week — and indications are he can — the Packers probably won’t move Daryn Colledge from his left guard spot like they have the last 2½ games.
Rookie T.J. Lang got all the backup reps at left tackle on Wednesday and appears to be McCarthy’s top choice to back up Clifton. He replaced Colledge late in the Packers’ loss at Minnesota and though he gave up a sack to Jared Allen, performed well.
“He’s a viable option at left tackle just as much as I am,” said Colledge, who injured his knee against the Vikings and will wear a brace this week. “It would be a great opportunity if he had to step in, God forbid Chad would go down again, and we’re able to keep some solidarity on the offensive line.”

I like this -- hopefully Clifton will be able to play and perform at a high level, but I'm glad they saw enough in Lang to give him a shot if Clifton can't perform instead of moving Colledge over again (which obviously isn't a good solution).
Let's hope it doesn't come to that, but if it does let's hope the kid can take advantage of the opportunity.
