I took a break last week, because (thankfully) McCarthy identified and spoke about the biggest issue that cost us the Minnesota game: Rodgers holding on to the ball too long. It led to at least one turnover and a safety. For whatever reason he has gotten away from throwing the ball away, which he did early last year. Can anyone identify one play where Rodgers has thrown the ball away this year?

Due to the lack of a game this previous Sunday, I do not have much to write about. Only one thing.

Here are some facts:

Packers' opponents, after week 5, have a combined record of 13-7 (including St. Louis who is 0-5).

Vikings' opponents, after week 5, have a combined record of 7-17.

The 2009 Vikings are not the best team Brett Favre has ever played on.

The Packers' next four opponents have a combined record of 7-13 (including the 5-0 Vikings).



What will the headlines of the NFL say after week 9? After week 12? We have a long season ahead of us. If you think that our team should be imploded after this four-game stretch, look no further than the 2007 Giants for a team that started off the same way.

I think the landscape will be dramatically different after the next 4 weeks. Things in the North will heat up and even out as The Pack closes the gap. As you said, it's a long season and I'm not so sure that the schedule is too hateful.
