I Believe In Aaron

How bout bringing Rossum back to return kicks and punts? He was just released today by the 49ers to make room for Crabtree. Idk what Rossum has left in the tank, but hey why not take a chance and avoid a possible injury to Jordy? Cuz we need Jordy more as a receiver then we do as a return man.

Who would you release?
I think Jordy Nelson's a perfectly good return man, and we need the depth elsewhere on the roster.

I am not sure what Rossum has left but if he had anything left, I would cut Giacomini. I don't think you need to carry 3 Right Tackles on the roster.

MM said today that Jordy is the guy on both punt and kick returns. That's fine by me because I think he could be a real talent in that department.

I like what I've seen out of Nelson as a return man. As much if not more so than Blackman.

I don't know...Nelson is good and dependable, but, because he's more of a straight-liner (ala Schroeder) vs. stop/start/juke guy (Blackman) in my book he's less a threat to break one for the distance. He just doesn't have as much 'change of direction' as Blackman. He's fine, mind you, just not great or a big threat. His 46 yarder against da Bears shows he's quite capable...maybe enough to not fiddle with creating a roster spot for Rossum.
Now, who was it that led the Packers in the pre-season with a 24.4-yard kickoff-return average on five returns? Oh, yeah, Tyrell Sutton.

JUST KIDDING!!!!

I think Jordy Nelson could be a very good retuner. If he could also be a a solid #3 or #4 WR plus a factor on returns he will justify having been a 2nd round pick. Good returners actually contribute quite a bit because they generate so many yards over the course of a season. What I like about Nelson is that he doesn't play around on kickoff returns. He has very good straight line speed and can quickly get past the 20 yard line. I don't care if he's a threat to break a long one as long as we are consistently getting good field position. The only thing he needs to clean up are his drops on punt returns and fair catching punts when the coverage is too close.

Isn't Rossum injured? Back?
Thought I saw where he was inactive last week.

Former Packer KR Allen Rossum signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys today.

I really don't like having a defensive or offensive starter returning punts. Make that a specialized guy.
