I Believe In Aaron
When do we cut Wynn and sign Kregg to the active roster? IMO Wynn is worthless, so he can block, good for him. Let's see what Lumpkin can do. He could be that change of pace back that we need (God knows he will never find out with Jackson cuz he can never stay healthy). Kregg looked good last year before he was injured.

I think Wynn has had plenty of oppurtunities in GB to show talent. The problem is that is has come in flashes and have been few and far between.

I dont see him sticking around much longer.

With that said I would like to spend a high draft pick on an impact RB next season. Nobody on this roster scares an opposing defense.
R man
For the most part this year, Wynn has proven nothing worthy of him holding onto a roster spot.
heavyD & da Pack
The current roster has many, many underachievers. Not just Wynn, he is but one of many. Why is this roster underachieving SOOOOOO Badly??? Talent or #@$%@#$#?

I think we'd all be amazed at the running game if there was an OL opening-up a hole once in a while. We don't need a 150 yd./game back (although would be nice to have), just someone who'll average 5 yds/carry and be a threat - AR and the WR's are the offensive studs carrying the O.

The OL needs/deserves the attention of our rounds 1, 2 and/or 3 picks next year (or this year in trade?). Right now our FB can't even make to the 2nd level to attempt a block, so where are the RB's supposed to go? LT, Safety, and then a road-grader RT in '10?
Heatseeker
My problem with Grant continues to be the fact that he flops like a rag doll after just one hit. He never breaks tackles. I haven't seen Wynn able to do that, either.

We do need a #1 RB.....

and a LT.....

and a Safety.....
La Ment
I had high hopes for Wynn this year and he has really disappointed. I don't know if he got complacent or needs that motivation of being threatened to be cut similar to years past. He has not taken that next step.

Problem is, Lumpkin is like Grant redux and he can't stay healthy. It's too soon to give up on Wynn, but he needs to step up.

I haven't seen Wynn given the opportunity to do much of anything except block. He's had a couple of drops on checkdowns, but by that logic, then let's cut Driver, Lee, Jones, Grant and Jennings while we're at it....

He's had plenty of oppurtunities the last 3 years to do something and has shown next to nothing. Time to cut bait.

Well, he won the starting job his rookie year until he got injured. Last year he made some big improvements to his game and threw some great blocks in pass protection that allowed some big pass plays. He also made some good plays with the ball as a third down back. This year he's barely touched the ball. Injuries have hurt his development, but I just don't think cutting him is in order. I'd like to see him get a shot as the featured back for a game, instead of getting one or two carries.

Not a challenge, but a question. Would you pick a RB in the first two rounds, or OL? After all, which came first, the chicken or the cluck? Emmitt Smith was spectacular with a great OL. Just asking.

It is my opinion the new GM will need to concentrate first on the offensive tackles, using FA, trades and the draft. That should be the metodology a good GM employs rather than limiting the tean to one method that the current GM has been found lacking.

I think both positions depends on each other and how active Ted wants to be in FA.

IMO I would rather spend money on some guys on FA for the line and draft a back early.

The new coaching staff may decide that a DL of Jenkins, Jolly, Rajji, kampman, Pickett will put more pressure on the QB than DEs playing out of position

laugh.gif I noticed your first post matter-of-factly mentioned what the 'new GM' will need to do and then this one re: the 'new coaching staff'. Just curious, do you really think Ted and MM will be let go this year or are you kidding around? Personally, I hope you are right. Ted will NEVER change his modus operandi and GB will need to find guys in FA to help build this team.

I'm serious as 8 sacks per game, they need to go.You remeber when Holgren came to GB the culture changed quick. WE have some talent, it just doesn't extend to the head coach and GM

But I don't think we should wait 10-15 yrs
(for the new GM and coaching staff)
to address these issues!!
I don't think many of those players will still be playing!!

Go Pack!!

Wynn has not played that well as a third down back except for the blitz pickup. He had played fairly well as a runner in the past and had good speed but he looks stiff and alittle bigger this year like he bulked up. He has not been able to catch the ball yet and does not look comfortable as a receiver. It would be nice if it was just jitters and he comes on and does well in the next few games .

I dont think Lumpkin looked good catching the ball either so I dont know if he is the answer . What I do know is GB needs a receiving RB and Rodgers needs confidence that the back can catch the ball when Rodgers checks down . It might be that Rodgers needs to look at that check down pass more often to help the team and he does need to grow as a QB to know when to use the RB in these situations as he is going through his reads and trying to get it to the WR's for a bigger gain and sometimes he needs to check down and get rid of it before he gets sacked.

Green was able to morph into a receiver and hopefully Grant can do the same. While Jackson has been hurt in the past he did not fair that well as a third down back but has a chance to morph into a good receiver and hopefully his poor choices in the path he takes after the catch can be learned. It would be huge if he comes back from injury and can make a difference or maybe Korey Hall can fill the receiving back situation.
JASIII
I think Jackson is easily the best receiving back. That's not really saying much though, since the other guys all look like they have stone hands.
