Why would the Saints drop him so soon?

It's all speculation, but apparently they Saints starters should be returning soon and they may have wanted a guy that could play special teams (they signed a young guy to replace him).

Do we have an extra roster spot available? Who would we drop if (big if) he was signed?

I'm pretty sure Kampman hasn't gone to IR yet. So we potentially could come up with a roster spot.

If there was ever a perfect opportunity to help a team at a position of need that is potentially heading into the playoffs, this is it. Come on TT, it just makes too much sense to not do it.

I believe Obiozor took Kampman's roster spot. Perhaps putting Thompson on IR would open up a spot. However, I would doubt McAllister is going to be signed given the Bell and Ford moves last week. Young guys with potential is TT's m.o. I would think a D-lineman is a possibility given the injury situation. Talley or Toribio anyone?
