What, if anything, would Brett Favre need to accomplish in Minny to warrent his wearing Purple in Canton?

2, 3, 4 Championships? An MVP mixed in?

Could the unthinkable even happen?

Players do not wear any team uniforms or colors when they are inducted.

They wear those lovely mustard yellow blazers wink.gif I know what packdaddy means though. No, too many years in GB to go in as any other team.

I think if Brett wins a Super Bowl with the Vikings, he will be forever linked with them and not so much with the Packers. From a marketing stand point, the Vikings will ride that pony all the way to town.

Well, as KC points out, they don't go in under any team. If he wanted to be spiteful, he could spend most of his speech talking about his career in MN and have his family in Purple jerseys. I guess in that way you could say he "went in as a Viking". That's all up to him, though.

He'll be remembered as a Packer, though. James Loftin had a nice career after the Packers, but his family was there wearing their Packers jerseys. I think he saw himself as going in as a Packer.

I'm sorry for not being clear in my post...I mean his bust in the actual museum...not his induction speech.

It's been about 25 years since I was at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but surely a player's image or bust indicates a team, correct?

Nope... There is no chosen team that is associated with the player. You might be thinking of the baseball HOF which the player chooses which team he wants to associate with since they also show the cap in the busts.

Actually, I don't think it really matters what happens with his career in Mn. What will matter is if Ted Thompson is still running the Packers. The way this whole thing has played out leads me to believe that Favre and his wife will never forgive TT, and will take every opportunity presented to poke him in the eye.

Here we go again!!

Forgive what?

Favre brought this on himself and some still fail to believe it.
Waynorth
I didn't say I believed that. Do I think Favre and his family believe that? Yes, unfortunately I do. I believe TT did the best he could with the hand he was dealt.

I don't understand your reasoning. Favre won a SB with the Packers, and came close to winning back-to-back, which honor went to Elway- something I think Favre is anxious to accomplish. He has that opportunity in Minnesota, playing in a dome with a dominant OL and RB, and a very good defensive front seven. If he did win two SB's with Minny, he might want to be remembered as a Viking, though I really doubt it. I've never seen him do a "fireman's carry" with any Minny player, yet. He was absolutely jubilant about playing football in GB. Now, he is professional and workmanlike. He is a man on a mission- (a) Stick it to TT (cool.gif Win another SB or two.

As far as winning a SB in Minny- so what? As Packer fans, we can always retort to gloating Vikings fans- "Sure, you won, with a Packer QB." Which would be true. Personally, I think he has Mike Holmgren give his induction introduction- not Brad Childress.

I belive it does list the teams you played for so for Favre it will be like

Atlanta Falcons 1991
Green Bay Packers 1992-2007
New York Jets 2008
Minnesota Vikings 2009

This player in this jersey is not winning a super bowl.

All the more reason to think Favre might find it hard to forgive Thompson, if you think about it.
