Full Version: Did anyone read the transcripts of Favre's Presser?

Man, this guy can't lie to save his own life. I was especially struck by his response to the question of why he asked NY for his release. He totally tried to blow it off. Lame. He CAN'T answer that question truthfully because it would implicate him as a scheming shyster.

"why ask for Jets to release you?: "None of that matters now anyway. What matters is that game Monday night."

LAME ANSWER BRENT

I read it and I counted lie after lie after lie.

Man the F up Favre and call a spade a spade!

Maybe Brett needs to go back and watch his own PC's before he opens his mouth so he can get his stories straight. Or maybe he was just in a hurry because Childress was outside waiting to chauffeur him around to Sears and Taco Bell.

Yeah, I would have more respect for him if he just said that he's been seeking revenge for a couple years.

I thought the article said Chilly was chauffering him to Max Magee's pancake house?
Packer Backer NY

The PC's from both sides are exactly what I expected them to say:

"It's just another game"
"It's not all about Brett Favre"
"It's a 16 game season"
"I did not come back for revenge"

If anyone was expecting an all out fued via the media, they were sadly mistaken.

Expect the same when it's over. Expect the same before and after the game in Lambeau. Expect the same if we meet in the playoffs.

I couldn't agree with you more. Thats the most disappointing thing to me.

I don't care that he's a Viking. I don't care that he wanted to play again- thats his right.

But when you take a page out of your agents playbook, and flat out lie as much as he has through this whole process, you lose all credibility with me.

The one that irked me the most, was the interview with Jaws. "How could I ever ask Mike(Tannenbaum) for my release, after all he's done for me" blah blah blah. The lie was all over his face. And sure enough, he asked for his release.

Theres a laundry list of things he has said that I think are lies now, but I won't go into that because we can all guess what those are. The crappy part is, I can't take anything the guy says at face value anymore. This latest presser just reinforces that belief even more. It's disappointing.

I'm beginning to wonder if he really is comfortable in Wrangler Jeans. unsure.gif

I'd have a lot more respect for him if he just said "Hell yes, I want to stick it it to the Packers and Ted Thompson" but that's not the political correct thing to do.

Bottom line is EVERYONE knows why he's in Minnesota...

Yeah, LUVDA!!!

Now that's what I'm talking about!! You hit the nail on the head with this one. The notion that he has repeatedly told lies throught this whole ordeal is no longer a matter of opinion ..it's a fact!! All you have to do is listen to the words that come out of HIS mouth and the way he has continuously contradicted himself.

No offense, Luvda, but it says a lot when even you are making comments like this tongue.gif

Beside all of the lies he said, he also said that 2007 was the best year he had. If 2007 was his best year, then why did he retire in March 2008. That is the big question and he hasn't answer it yet. What was the real reason he decided to retire that March?

After the 2006 year, he made the decision to come back the Friday before the Super Bowl. After the 2007 year he can't make up his mind until March. I don't understand it.

I backed him up on to much stuff for to long and to be honest I would still be backing him up IF he would kept his mouth shut.

His nose gets longer every time he opens his mouth. Guy should run for office somewhere.

He might have won Governorship in Wisconsin from about '93 to 2001 if he wanted.

I've wondered about that myself but the more I thought about it the more I'm convinced Favre just wasn't happy in Green Bay. He had it made when Sherman was running things but not after MM came on board. There are even hints out this week that MM knew of Favre's desire to play in MN during those marathon talks in GB that August! Did BF think TT would just give him his release if he made himself a big pain in the arse by leaking stuff to the press and going on Fox News Channel? TT shipping him off to NY was just a detour for Favre. Favre said all the right things over there but "retired" yet again after the 08 season. After NY drafted Sanchez BF tried to pull the same stunt he tried to do here (retired players don't ask for their release) and got it, something TT would never do. Now he was free and clear to go to the team he's been wanting to join for a while now. dry.gif
