Chris and Dave discuss the Green Bay Packers victory over the St Louis Rams.

Hey Chris and Dave,

Regarding the top Packer Free Agent question that you poised in the podcast, here is a link from packers.com that lists all of the pack's free agent signings.

http://www.packers.com/history/record_book...fl_free_agents/

It is amazing how talent thin the list is. I think that it is pretty clear that Reggie is the best Packer free agent signing of all time, but some of the others that I think could be in the conversation of runnerup would be:

Woodson
Sean Jones
Santana Dotson
Desmond Howard

Really! That's about it for stand out players, there are others who made contributions to the team such as:

Don Beebe
Mike Prior
Ryan Pickett
Tim Hauck
Vai Sikahema

What this list does for me is just affirm my belief in how poor Mike Sherman's talent evaluation skills were. See for yourself.

Just wanted to say thanks for continuing on with Packers Therapy. I really enjoy them and look forward to each one.

Regarding Free Agent signings, you cannot go wrong with Reggie White and Charles Woodson. Digging deep into the well, Frank Winters was a significant Plan B free agent signing, back in the day. We had experienced quite a dearth of talent on the o-line for several seasons and I think he was the first one in many years that made a pro bowl.

Good stuff guys, much improved audio quality too smile.gif I appreciated Dave's perspective on the game from the "friendly" confines of the Edward Jones dome. Makes me glad we've got the mecca in Lambeau Field.

I'd have to rank the top 10 free agent signings like this:

Reggie
Woodson
Sean Jones
Santana Dotson
Desmond Howard
Joe Johnson (in a negative way)
Ryan Pickett
Wow, that's all I can come up with...

So, what Andre Rison? wasn't he a FA?

One funny thing that caught my attention:

Unrestricted Free Agent
1999 - LB Mike Morton (Oakland)
2000 - LB Mike Morton (St. Louis)

Also, wow, lost a lot of players in '98, and '99, esp. some go OL guys.

And, What the... Transitional player tag in '03 went to none other than Cletidus Hunt!

You forgot Chillar, Keith Jackson, Rison.

Rison, and Jackson weren't on the list that link points to. I wonder how they were acquired. They would certainly be on my list, maybe in the top 5. BTW, my buddies and I called Jackson "Lunchbox", was that just us? or was that a well known nick?

Chillar? too soon for me to vote on. Looks promising at the moment, but its still to soon.
