Went to the game this weekend in St. Louis and there is no way I could be a Rams fan. A short list.

1. A 30 minute tribute to LA Rams players of the '70s. WTF?
2. No place to tailgate. We stayed at a downtown hotel and when we asked the desk person where people tailgated we received the blind stare of a dairy cow. Turns out there is no parking lot, people just park downtown and go to the game. There were a few tent parties across the street from stadium, but they looked pretty boring. I guess the $5,000 PSL wasn't enough to level some of the vacant abandon crack buildings next to the dome and turn them into parking lots.
3. Nothing but Budweiser. I asked where the Lennie's was but received the same stair as listed above.
4. A dome is no place to have a football game. It was dark in the stands and the lighting on the field was blinding. Like I was at some opera or something.
5. Worse fly by I have ever seen before a game. smile.gif

The good news is Packer Fans outnumbered Ram's fans by 3:1! And there were plenty of vacant seats. I didn't hear the "GO PACK GO" chant as we were leaving like I did in KC a few years ago (my personal best Packer moment EVER), but it was strange seeing nothing but green and gold leaving the dome as all the Rams fans left early.

So next time you see the cloud of smoke above Lambeau just remember how good we have it!

Nothing but Budweiser.....

Isnt St. Louis the home of the King of Beers?
I'm not suprised they locked up the concessions where the Rams play.

Worse fly by I have ever seen before a game....

You probably encountered the Grand Titsi, a nasty looking beast which was deposited in the mid-west off a foreign freighter up the Mississippi. Hope it didnt land on anything you ingested. If so, the eggs take 10-12 days to hatch and the larvae will make themselves comfortable in your bowels.

Same experience when I went to the 2007 game. I could have gone (I'm a stone throw's away), but your post is exactly why I didn't go. A football game in St. Louis sucks. No one cares about the Rams here, it's all about the Cardinals!

And I would say it was about the same ratio (75% Packers fans) in 2007 as well, pretty cool.

Also, you don't expect to have a rival beer when Budweiser's down the street, do you? wink.gif

Lambeau is the greatest place for a football game, hands down.

That is not my point. My point is he had no connection with the city of St. Louis. Never played there except against the Cardinals.

As I was watching the game I thought it would be cool if all the fans would group up together at the end of the game and really make it look like a home game!! That would be a crazy sight. Thats what these stadiums do nowdays is they scatter all the fans so it doesn't look like the opposition has taken over their stadium.
Havn't been to St. Louis yet, but I have been to old Cinergy field in Cincy. Now that was bad, the public address announcer kept cutting out, the shot clocks did not work the whole game. It was a pretty dingy scenerio.

True, unfortunately Bidwell destroyed all memory of the FOOTBALL Cardinals here in St.Louis.. Its just rams now, and all they have is LA memorys..

GO PACK GO, sounded so good in the dome..

Word! They had some fantastic players back then! I remember Jack Youngblood playing the Super Bowl with a broken leg. Tom Mack, Jackie Slater..... They always choked when it counted though. smile.gif

It's a Ram game for God sakes, of course they honor their own!!!

I really doubt you would feel the same way if the Packers moved to Arizona and the Cowboys moved to Green Bay and then honored players who beat the Packers.

During the regular season, the 60's Rams and their "Fearsome Foursome" - Jones, Olsen, Brown, and Lundy were formidable and a continuous thorn in Lombardi's side. Fortunately, we always seemed to get their goat in the playoffs. Even as a Packer fan and youngster, I admired the Rams front four and did plenty of Deacon Jones imitations, endlessly tackling my little sister in the back yard. Sorry sis!

It's the same at Busch Stadium. Bud or But Light as one vendor kept hollering.Or Busch. Other than that though it's a great place to see baseball.

Fearsome Foursome one of the most formidable defensive line in NFL history.

Deacon Jones and Merlin Olsen are both in the Hall of a Fame.
And both are in the Rams' Ring of Fame and NFL's 75th Anniversary team in 1994.

Then I would be an "Arizona Packers" fan.

The Cowboys moving to Green Bay? laugh.gif

Yea, that will happen. laugh.gif

That's what they said in Baltimore. As usual you missed the point.

And do you think Johnny Unitis would be honored at a halftime ceremony as a Baltimore Raven or an Indianapolis Colt?

Why?

Oh no, I got it. I just don't see it as valid nor do I find your example even remotely close reality. smile.gif

Dallas moving to Green Bay. laugh.gif

I still can't stop laughing at that one!
