I wanted to display my roster here in order to write about who I'm going to start this week and why. If anyone has any thoughts or input at all, feel free to share. I'm still only learning this whole fantasy game!
DISCLAIMER: pkrjones, you'll see from my roster that I didn't take your advice. I did in fact make the trade of Matt Ryan for Anquan Boldin. What it boiled down to, in the end, was trading a player I got in the 7th round for a player who has 2nd round value. We'll see if this was a smart move or dumb by the end of the season.
Roster:
QBs: Tom Brady
RBs: Michael Turner, Steve Slaton, Ray Rice, Beanie Wells, Felix Jones, Fred Jackson
WRs: Anquan Boldin, Steve Smith (NY), TJ Houshmandzadeh, Derrick Mason, Johnny Knox
TEs: Jason Witten
K: John Casay
Def: Oakland
I have to start QB (1), RB (2), WR (3), TE (1), K (1), Def (1). Obviously I'm going to start Brady, Witten, Casay, and Oakland. I may switch Oakland out, but I like the match up of their secondary vs. Orton. With the wide receivers, I'm pretty sure I'm going to start Boldin, Smith, and Mason. Housh has a poor matchup vs. the Bears and has had back problems, and has Seneca Wallace throwing to him. I like Smith's matchup and Mason's isn't terrible.
The running back starters is where it gets tricky. Turner is generally a must start, but Slaton, Jones, and Jackson are getting great match ups. I'm a little gun shy on Slaton still. Jones may not start. Jackson is ESPN's highest predicted scorer. Right now I have Turner and Jackson as my starters.
Any thoughts or opinions here?
