Full Version: My WR's suck.

My running backs and flex consist of AP, LenDale White and Jamal Lewis. Granted, the second two aren't great, but AP more than makes up for it.

However, my WR's are struggling. Megatron is my starter, but beyond that, my choices are:

Lance Moore
I had him last year and he was super-consistent. But now Brees has even more options to throw to.

Kenny Britt

Rookie, yes. But Kerry Collins seems to like him. I have him penciled in as my starter

Mark Clayton
Seemed pretty damn good last week, and Flacco is targeting him.

Any thoughts?
JASIII
Hmmm, I'd go with Clayton I think. Lance Moore would be my 2nd choice.
VA_PackFan
I'd start either Britt or Clayton. I don't trust Houston at all, so I would start Britt, but I could see an argument for starting Clayton against last year's 31st ranked passing D. However, Baltimore is a run first team.

That's a tough one, Seeker. All 3 are single-digit guys most weeks, but will have a break-out game occasionally. Moore vs. Philly, Clayton vs. SD, and Britt vs. Houston - none are outstanding matchups. IMHO, coin-flip between Clayton and Britt, as NO has so many other options. Britt wins my flip.

Do you have other options? How many teams are in your league? BTW, after AP your other RBs aren't much either.

12 man league. Go back and see my other post. Picking first in a 12 man league basically sucks. Yeah, you get one awesome guy, but I had to wait 24 picks before I could pick again and that's when I snatched up a QB and Megatron as literally EVERYONE picked running backs early on.
JimATX
Gotcha... 12 team leagues are tough on #1 picks. Roster for the guy in my league that had the #1 pick:

Player YTD Pts Bye Drafted

Think I may have stolen a good one though -- picked up Mario Manningham off waivers today. Manning seems to love this guy.

I just grabbed him, as well... good pickup.

Target Johnny Knox. He has more upside then Manningham who's going to have competition with Nicks and Hixon. I'm not saying he will, but Knox is in a situation where he could be this year's Eddie Royal.

Agreed.

I just scooped him up in all my leagues. He might actually be the best true WR on the roster.
Heatseeker
Been starting Knox alongside Megatron.

Just put waiver claims on Benard Berrian, Jerome Harrison and yes.......Crabtree (hell, why not?)

Berrian and Harrison would be huge for my depth. Now that Bye weeks have started, I'm starting to win some games. My scoring has been very consistent, so hopefully I can bounce back from my 0-2 start......

If Mossaquoi is still available, he should be your #1 WW priority right now. Also Kenny Britt.

Those guys are better options then Berrian or Crabtree right now.
Heatseeker
Ah, good call. I forgot about Massaquoi. I picked him and Berrian up. Someone else got Crabapples and Jerome Harrison. Right now, my only real weakness is RB depth. I'm pretty deep on WR's w/ Calvin Johnson, Kenny Britt, Massaquoi, Berrian, Lance Moore and Johnny Knox (I know, lots of WRs..but I like matchups)

My RB's however, aside from Adrian Peterson (who ain't bad) are Ricky Williams and LenDale White. I'm starting Williams because Pennington is out, meaning he's actually been pretty decent, but I'd prefer to play him at the flex spot, than anything.

I'm thinking of offering a WR up for Jerome Harrison. Thoughts?
Vots
The only WRs I could see being exchanged for Harrison is Berrian or Moore.

I believe Britt will eventually be the clear cut guy for TEN and not Washington by the end of this year. Massaquoi is all of a sudden a solid #2 WR. Some people are "iffy" on him, but don't be. Massaquoi was Anderson's favorite target in training camp and they've got some chemistry. As long as Anderon is the QB, Massaquoi is a start. And Knox will eventually find himself on the receiving end of a lot more receptions. He may be the #2 WR, but Royal caught 90 balls last year as Cutler's #2.

So you'd be trading away to much upside in exchange for Harrison. Now Harrison will probably end up getting a few more carries then Lewis per game as the season goes on. But this is Cleveland. They're probably not going to be in very many situation this year where they can end the game by pounding the rock.

If you're looking for a RB to fill in for you, try these:

Mendenhall: If this guy is still on your WW, go pick him up right now. He be among the top 10 RB's in scoring this week.
Sammy Morris: Not Laurence Maroney, will be the guy.
Tashard Choice: I doubt this guy's on your WW, but if he is, pick him up. He'll should be seeing most of the carries Sunday.
Bush or Fargas: Since McFadden's out for a few weeks, either one of these guys could be good for a low #2.
