Full Version: Ochocinco wants to do a Lambeau Leap
PackerChatters > PackerChatters > Green Bay Packers News Talk > Next Opponent Game Day
JASIII
I know some people may dislike this guy's antics, but I kind of like him. Here's a bit of his press conference regarding this weeks game. I think he 's sort of funny and he goes to great lengths to explain that he means no disrespect (Randy Moss, T.O) but wants to take part in a great tradition. Normally I HATE it when other teams players try to do a Lambeau Leap, but I might be ok with this, just as long as the Pack wins!!

"Here are some snip-its from that 10-minute conference call:

Ochocinco: "I'm just really focused on going out there and having some fun, and looking to be embraced by the Packers fans, and hopefully I can Lambeau Leap."

Q: Would you really do that?

"Yeah, it’s no disrespect, especially coming from me, you know how I am. I just go out there and have fun. I enjoy the Dog Pound (in Cleveland) when I jump in there. They embrace me. I'm looking for the Cheeseheads to embrace Ocho also."

Q: What do you think the reaction would be if you did the Lambeau Leap?

"I'm not sure. If they’re to accept one individual out of all the NFL teams to embrace if he got in the stands, I think I should be that one. I’m no harm. It’s all fun. It’s all entertainment, and it’s really a challenge for myself and for that defense and that secondary to stop me from doing what I'm coming in there to do, and that’s to do everything I can to get us a 'W'."

Ochocinco: "Tell Nick Barnett, I’m coming for his head. I want you all to give him that message."

Q: Can't you just Tweet him that yourself?

Ochocinco: "I don’t want to Tweet that, I want you to tell him. And let the Packer Nation know that we’re coming to town, and I'm looking forward to entertaining and bringing a little fun to the city and with no disrespect."

Q: What will be like to face Al Harris and Charles Woodson?

Ochocinco: "It doesn’t matter who I see, they all will get the same treatment, which is a blessing. That’s the reason games are played on Sunday. You know, they miss church, so I will gladly bless them throughout the entire four quarters."

Q: Was last week's loss to Denver on that tipped pass the worst way to lose a game?

Ochocinco: "Yeah, that’s the toughest way I’ve lost in real life and on a video game. I've never seen anything like that before. That was ridiculous. I mean, lucky play, lucky bounce."
Jeremy
If he tries to do a Lambeau Leap, he's going to be shoved right back. Hopefully he doesn't get hurt.

Hopefully he won't have the opportunity.

Heatseeker
I'd grab a digit and break it if I was sitting there.
Skyshadow
That would involve him concentrating on playing actual football rather than tweeting, showboating and thinking about what color to dye his hair, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
IceBowlWitnessBoy
Packer fans should take a lesson from Cubs fans and throw him back onto the field. laugh.gif
PackerJB
Man he sure talks a lot for a player who has done nothing the last few seasons. Talk is very cheap. And what's with the Barnett comment?

Nick knocked his block off a while back.

Well, if we're going to go all Cubs fan on him, we should douse him in beer and throw garbage at him. wink.gif

Barnett tweeted earlier this week that he is looking to take Ochocinco's head off. So, Nick started it, Chad's responding. No big deal, just two guys who like to talk a lot of trash.

I'm with JASIII - I think the dude is funny and harmless
MrHenderson
I kinda think its fun. If he goes in he knows he will get beer dumped on him. Its not a big deal. When the pack goes up 49-0 i think its ok for them to have one TD. Only one. Or maybe he will kick a field goal and then jump in.

Yeah, but you still gotta throw him back if he tries to jump in. Lambeau Leap is for Packer Players only.
Pugger
On another forum there is a thread about this Ocho wanting to do a Lambeau Leap. One guy said we should toss him back like they used to do with people at Badger games! wink.gif laugh.gif
KC Pack Fan
Not sure why, but the guy doesn't get under my skin like TO and others. I guess it is because he looks at it as fun from the start and not really showboating or disrespecting another team or player. I can see TO trying to do it without mentioning it first just trying to get a rise out of people.

That being said, no free pass. Go for the eyes, and I sure hope he is thirsty. This is OUR house!

GO PACK!

I think fans should do something creative, not mean spirited. I took a long time warming up to Ochocinco, but I think he's a lot more fun then most of the other brash receivers in the Game. Ocho strikes me as a showman more then an obnoxious diva. I kinda like the guy.
Best case scenario is for him not to score, but if he does do the leap, maybe stick a Cheesehead on his noggin or something.

He's just talking smack with Barnett, they were teammates at Oregon St in 2000.
Jeremy
I don't mind his act, but I'm glad none of the Packer players do that. I would think his "look at me" act would get pretty tired with the guys in the lockerroom who are serious about winning football games. But I suppose the Bengals are a joke anyway so...

Heatseeker
I hope Chuck Wood and Harris use this as bulletin board material and absolutely shut him down. Like, 1 catch for 8 yards kind of abuse.
LambeauLeap
His focus would be better spent on a Lambeau Win but to each his own.

Exactly.

I would say Barnett probably laughed his @SS off.

On the contrary, I think they should kidnap him. You know, don't give him back at all. Hide him under a stack of green and gold blankets and cheeseheads and just sit on him and look innocent.

One of the local radio guys suggested passing him backwards through the crowd, like you might if a rock star jumped into the crowd at a concert. All the way out of the stadium.

There is an idea
Folks I'm old school, when the deep pass was the bomb, across the 50 was enemy territory, players were missing teeth because of the game and the Endzone was the Endzone or pay dirt, not the house. You throw an enemy player back with beer soaking. Toughen up guys

That's not Barnett, unless he got traded to the Browns! Nice hit, though.

I am sure that there will be some funny signs in the endzone. Been trying to think up something, its early but here are a few, "Chad we will embrace you like barb wire". Or "Chad we throw back rotten carp".

You mean drop him over the back wall instead?

"We don't mix with the fish"
"Stocks of tar and feathers this way"
"Up here to meet the cast of 'I am Legend'"
"This way to take part in the reenactment of the Ox-bow Incident"
"Feed me"
LMG
Just keep him out of the endzone...very simple. tongue.gif

How about this, people in the first row dress up in Bengal jerseys, and throw him back. (that is if he actually gets in the endzone) that would look good on tv.
Fans could slap a bunch of mousetraps on him.
Here is one in bad taste, tape a sign on his back, "Mexican Border Jumper"

Seriously.

Let's think about it. Chad scores and jumps into the stands, you grab ahold of his index finger and with every ounce of your drunken might, twist and bend that sucker until it snaps like a twig.

At this point, three things happen.

A.) OchoCinco loses is mind and punches you. Congratulations on your new BMW and mortgage-free house.

B.) You're regarded as a hero among Packer fans.

C.) You help your team because, well, it's pretty hard to catch a ball when you've got a finger shaped like a, "7."

Literally, no downside whatsoever, except for that shiner he gives you. And hell, that'll clear up in no time.
stuffin
Like LMG said; don't let him score.

But if he does, all the fans in the endzone need to turn their backs on him. Of course this should be done without showing disrespect.
GBP4EVER
OOPPS sorry Ocho did not mean for my beer to land in your face. laugh.gif
NecessaryRoughness
Like a gunslinger keeping notches in the wall for every kill..."yeah, that third notch was your dead brother, no disrespect intended."

He thinks he can do anything to anyone, then, just say he didn't mean to disrespect anyone, so it's all O.K.

There is no genuine concern for Packers fans, the Packers players, or the Packers organization, and he has no respect for any of them. His actions prove that. mad.gif
Pugger
Another guy on another forum said we should disguise the stands like the end zone cuz he'd never find it!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

That's funnier than hell. I'm laying in bed laughing my head off at the visual of that - "Who, us? I don't know what yer talking about. A football player, you say? What did he look like? Where did you see him last?"
DaveatMIZZOU
hold him in there and get a delay of game on him.

Honsetly, I wouldnt be bothered as long as we are winning. OchoCinco is funny. Other players would anger me, but honestly this guy is just a clown, nothing more.
Jeremy
The last opposing player to try it...

Man! Jeremy you beat me to it. I was at that game and saw it. Someone dumped their beer on him.

A football player, you say? Maybe about 6-1, blonde hair, funny mustache? Nope, never saw him.

What OCHO wants and what OCHO gets are 2 different things
Geki
Barnett and Ochocinco played together at Oregon State. It's all in good fun. I personally find Chad to be hilarious, but unfortunately for him, he's gonna be the second best Ochocinco on the field come Sunday.
LuvdaPack36
I dont think he's funny but I also dont really care what he does. IMO his act has worn out with most people.

That being said I watched an interview with him wear he talked about some earrings he had bought. The reporter asked him how much and he said something like $200.00.

He then went on to say how dumb athletes are for paying tens of thousands of dollars for jewelery when the common person cant even tell the difference between real and fake.

If all athletes were like that lots of them wouldnt go bankrupt after they get done playing.
