So what does everyone think of the victory? I'm thrilled to get out of there with a win, what a game! A couple of my thoughts:
-- Congrats to Rodgers!
-- That cry-baby Cutler got what he deserves, Bear receivers, ha...
-- Babre is going to be abused in weeks to come, ugh
-- I'm a little concerned about the O. They only looked good once the bears had 3 more guys out, including Urlacher.
-- The D. Wow. Can't wait to BJ gets in there too. Clay Matthews looked good. Chillar is a MAN!
-- Where was 88! Did he even play? I was looking for the Jermichelnator to go off.
-- Finally: Da bear still suck!

rodgers played well (except on the safety) given that he had whats-his-face in his grill all game.
i almost ran to GB myself to slap barbre for being terrible.
run game still leaves a lot to be desired.
can't wait for raji.
why use finley like that in the preseason then barely put him on the field week 1?
packers NEED to draft an OT in the 1st or second round in the 2010 draft. need to replace at least 1 and possibly 2 OTs most likely next season.

Barbre was a huge disappointment...and is now a huge concern going forward. Part of the reason why the O didn't look good, I think, is because of the protection problems (mainly Barbre, but also others).
Finley was invisible -- that was a surprise to me, too.
I liked all the turnovers, but the D was leaky. I consider it very much a work in progress.
Chillar certainly has earned more playing time.
They will need BJ because it looked like Jolly got hurt.
All's well that ends well, I suppose. But there was much to be concerned about in my judgment.

Yeah, I'm a bit concerned too. Chicago played like, well chicago on Offense, and we still barely one.
One other thing that just crossed my mind. Where the refs trying to give the game to chicago? Seriously. 3 points of contention: urlachers late hit on Rodgers early on. That "fantom" (as Collinsworth even said) call that gave the bears a first down on their potentially game winning drive, and finally the hit on Rodgers while sliding. Come on...
Oh, and, Da bears still suck. :-) In case you forgot.

It is troubling to get four turnovers and still have to scrape and scratch for the win. Missed blocks, missed open receivers, dropped passes, missed tackles, at least one blown coverage...lots to clean up.

Post-game McCarthy said he 'got the wind knocked out of him'. Should be OK. No major injuires from this game. Woo-hoo!

It's at least a change from last year when the D would break in the end. The D stiffened. Got a stop and held the bears to a 3 then sealed AR's comeback with an INT. We bagged on the D last year, and I think it's only fitting that we give them props for helping to secure a win. Just like Ar couldn't win it by himself last year, this year, this game, he needed the D to step up and they did. Good team win. Builds character.

First of all, you have to tip your hat to the Bears defense - they played a damn good game. That aside, I've never seen in recent memory a game where a right tackle became such a liability to the whole offense. It was obvious that Barbres play got into Rodgers head, how could it not ? Rodgers probably feels like a tree more than a human being he was planted so many times, courtesy of Barbre. I have never really been a big fan, as its commonly known that Barbre is far from the sharpest knife in the drawer. If you dont have the most elementary basics down by now Mr Barbre, will you ever ? He single handedly almost cost us that game.
Where were the tight ends you ask ? Blocking for Barbre. Remember a couple years ago when we constantly needed to line up the tight ends to help our porous line play ? Last night was a repeat of that. We constantly motioned our tight ends to that wing position in an effort to help chip on guys running free. No doubt that hindered our total offensive output and cut the playbook considerably.
Totally glossed over this preseason was the fact that Sitton had 0 regular season game experience and Barbre had maybe a quarter and a half of terrrible play last year. The right side of our line has been my biggest concern all preseason in regards to Rodgers and Grants play. It turned out worse than I could have imagined as far as Barbre is concerned. To have Breno inactive for last nights game is a mistake that MM probably wont make again.
We cut ties with the Moll experiment and if Barbre doesn't wake up, he needs to go as well. Its the right tackle for gods sake - the ongoing saga of this offensive line continues in year 4 or 5 and if it proves to be the achilles heel, it will certainly cost us in the long run. I havent been in favor of the drafting a bunch of 4th and 5th round guys and trying to make it work - its taking far too long. While you cant argue too much with TT success, his handling of the offensive line is a huge sore spot with me. Sometimes you get what you pay for and we are seeing it first hand with the oline

Cutler is such a BABY! There's no crying during a game!
Seemed to me that Rodgers was playing scared all game, and I don't blame him. Barbre was Brutal.
The D played great!

I have to agree with sdn40. I don't know that we should be giving up on Barbre quite yet, but the line is certainly a concern. And is sure does seem to be a perpetual concern. (Why no comments on the OLine coach? Wasn't he the coach that everyone expected to be fired along with the defensive coaches?) Let's remember, though, the right side of the line consists of first year players. They might just come along very rapidly.
Still, you must look at the overall picture. The Bears put on a helluva pass rush, as did we. Yes, it stifled our offense, but look what it did to their's! Ok, granted, we're supposed to have the better O, but they're no slouches offensively at the same time - but it sure looked like they were last night.

Yes and I expect that first game jitters played a role and like someone posted that GB WRs drops early did not help either. Sitton and Barbre are first year starters and I hope that the next couple of games they get straightened out. I expect that they will. Clifton had a bad penalty (false start) but looked like he is not suffering from the ailments of last year. Yeah, it is early, but I believe that Cliffy will have a few years left. Hope GB and him can agree on a fair contract. I don't expect that GB will have a long term issue at RT. I expect that Bremo will be active next week....

Cutler looked like a High School freshman worried that someone was going to stuff him in his locker.
