Jason LaCanfora, of The NFL Network, reports the Minnesota Vikings have waived QB John David Booty.

I guess the trade of the draft pick to Minnesota wasn't that bad of a deal. I remember some people here yelling about never trading within the division and that Booty would be a good QB in a few years.

Now, the question becomes- do the Packers take a flier on Booty, or keep Brohm (maybe) on the pratice squad? Or maybe both? I'd be intersted in seeing Booty after an offseason in MM's QB school. Unlike Brohm, he might still be a viable QB. Not a starter, but a QB who could be traded for a draft pick down the line (which was always the idea with Brohm).

We could sign Booty to the practice squad and give him his old number back! wink.gif laugh.gif

We traded that spot for a 5th and a 7th rounder that became Breno Giacomini and Matt Flynn. I think we came out ahead on that deal.

It's pretty surprising that the Redskins, Rams, and Packers showed no interest. Booty, the Vikes' fifth-round pick in 2008, may resurface on the Minnesota's active roster if they can pull off a trade of Tarvaris Jackson.

why is it surprising that the Packers didn't go after JDB? blink.gif

No kidding, that guy looks as lost as Brohm.

The Vikings wanted to upgrade the old info Brent was giving them and hoped the Pack would pickup Da Boo-tai so he could photocopy and send them the current playbook. Chilly had promised Da Bootster that he'd claim him back once the deed was done.....but according to league sources, Chilly had told others privately that once he got his hands on the playbook he was going to burn Da Boot and leave him in GB. rolleyes.gif
