Fans always are fond of saying (fill in the blank) player "will never clear waivers," however the reality is unless a team is cutting someone very special or a player who has gotten everyone around the league's attention - teams are not going to be putting in claims on all of the guys fans think "will never clear waivers."

Interesting. So about 1 1/2 per team. Means there's a decent chance we'll pick up at least one player from someone else. Wonder who it will be? unsure.gif

But Bruce, you are forgetting that our cut players are better than everyone else's cut players. tongue.gif

I agree with you that most of the cuts will clear waivers, but there are a few (Jones and Sutton) that I don't think will.

I think the point is well taken. Jones, Underwood, Wynn, Lee, Brohm, Johnson, Meredith, Swain, Geno, we've got a bunch of guys who have a chance to be contributors someday, and that I'm loathe to lose. But would any of them really get picked up? And if so, which? I'm glad I'm not making those calls.

First thought, "Wow, that's brutal. Hundreds of dreams are likely to end now."

Second thought, "I wonder if the Packers can pick up a player or two that could help them?" (No punters- please).

Third thought: "That means the Packers should have a decent chance of stashing some guys on the practice squad!"

I hate stats, but those numbers are certainly peculiar.

Based on them it looks like THE PACKERS will be able to keep some of the more promising players on the PS and possibly pick up a contributor.
