Young in the way he was a studied veteran when he was finally called on to replace a legend, but as a player Brady. Much like Starr as a field general but with a more accurate long ball.
My goodness, which great QB we should compare Rodgers to is a far cry from what we were typing last year. Remember, it was Rodgers first year, and he had the tag of "injury prone". Many on here (including me) wrote that if he lasted the season, I would become more welcoming. He did last the season, and showed toughness in doing it.
During that entire season, he weathered the "Favre storm" with grace and aplomb. He then put up great stats, with the criticism that he didn't know how to finish games. There can be honest debate over this issue, but I have no intention of opening that entire topic again. That was last year. Lets look forward to this year instead.
Now, as far as Brady is concerned, he is in a class by himself. Shortly after being drafted, he allegedly walked up to Robert Kraft, the owner of the team, and told him, in effect, that drafting him (Brady), the Patriots had made the best move the franchise had ever made. It could be that Rodgers is the Packers next Bart Starr. And I cannot give higher praise to any QB than that.
