Does anyone here visit any of the bears or vikings forums? They are absolutely brutal - thread after thread, picking apart every aspect of the Packers team and organization. Most sites have special sections just for trashing Green Bay.

What's with all the hostility? I understand these are big rivals, but I visit 3 Packer sites and there is not nearly as much. There is some, but bears and vikings fans take it to another level.

What's the deal? Can it really all be explained by jealousy over Super Bowls?

We dominated the North for a very long time and yea the Bears and Queens fans are classless. Honestly, Cheesehead was meant to be a derogatory term coined by Bears fans. It got turned around on them. All I can say is funny how the Queens want all those former Packers. Personally I have no desire to go to Bear or Queen websites

The packers have dominated both of these teams at some point in the recent past. It usually happens that a rivalry is initiated mostly from the side that gets beat more often... and often it comes out as you described in the form of trash talk and hostility. All you need to do, is look at the packers-49ers rivalry from the 90's. Most packers fans will say "what rivalry?", but if you talked to a 49ers fan 10 years ago, they'll tell you how much they hate the Packers using trash talk and hostility. Why? Because the Packers owned them for about 5 or 6 years straight, many of which were playoff games.

Exactly.... probably why I hate the Cowboys so much.

Why bother going to one of their sites?

I would rather get crabs from an sloth than visit a Vikings or Bears' fan site.

Seriously, I mean, I hate the Bears and Vikings but if PC had a Bears' or Vikings' bashing section I'd consider it pretty tasteless...

But I'd still post there. LOL.

Where I on the other hand prefer to visit the MIT forum and the Institute of Higher Learning chats. They help me remember how stupid I am.

Helps me keep perspective on the outlook of the season. If I read too much on the Packer sites I start expecting a 12 win season. Reading the other fans posts I don't get my hopes up as much.

Someone here once posted those guys couldn't read or write, so them having a forum is something of a shock to me. laugh.gif

Couldn't help myself.

And where is that Bear poster who stops in once in awhile?

They just post recipes and other crap. They stopped talking football back in the 70s.
