What if in week 3, Rogers goes down with a season ending injury. Do the Packers call Mississippi to see if #4 could play? I'm just throwing this out there, so don't get all mad at me. What do you think the Packers would do?

I see no possibility of this happening.

As Chargers general manager A.J. Smith put it: “The only thing I’ve been thinking about throughout this whole situation is how smart Ted Thompson looks.”

Do we say the same about the Jets GM... he's pretty smart for releasing Favre as well.

And considering it came from AJ Smith I would not consider that a big endorsement

No. Completely different scenarios. One, Favre played for GB for 16 years and was still under contract. When Favre retired, GB had no reason to "release" him. When Favre started acting like a prima dona, GB especially had no reason to "release" him. He was a trading chip that GB used perfectly. Now take the Jets. They paid the price for Favre and could not trade him again (according to the trade guidelines from GB). Favre demanded his release after he retired again. Strange to demand a release after you retired. After the draft, the Jets had their QB and did not want the issue of Favre and had no history to worry about. Favre's vendetta was with GB and going to the Queens, neither involved the Jets.

Completely different and absurd. Favre plays out his drama since what 2001 or 2002? Every year the same BS until 2008, when he actually retired only to unretire right before TC. Same this year. It's old and stale and moldy.

Not exactly. Favre was still also under contract with the Jets, but they could have traded him, just NOT TO AN NFC NORTH team.

Call Jeff George.

If such a scenario occurred, I would welcome #4 back with open arms -- with the understanding that #12 is the QB in GB. Understand I've been critical of Brett since the get-go. But if Rodgers goes down, why not? We're a championship caliber team this year. Besides, Brett is family.

Yeah because we all know the Chargers suck every year don't they? Even though they lost arguably the best defensive player in the entire NFL for the entire season and LT hit the wall they still won their division and got past the 1st round of the playoffs. Yeah AJ Smith has no clue what he is doing. rolleyes.gif

I agree AJ Smith is a pretty damn good GM.Since 2003, A.J. Smith's first year as general manager, the Chargers have gone 58-38 - the fourth-best record in the league in that span

BTW I would love Brett to come back in a pinch only knowing it is Rodgers job when he is healthy.

You think Favre would do that or not try to divide the locker room so he would not go to the bench? I would rather live and die with the young kids then beg Favre to come back and put up with all the crap that he would bring with him.
