I wonder here last time a Minn judge ruled in favor of them. Are these judges ruling based on law or based on being a Viking homer?

I think its silly to consider the Vikings a Minnesota based employer. This is a professional sports team that has to obey testing rules put in place by the NFL. This is setting a terrible precedent. The NFL is trying to do its part to prevent a catastrophe like the one that took place in the MLB. Now any judge from any state can start mingling with the NFL's affairs. The NFL has testing rules and has published a list of banned substances. The Williams violated that list. They should be punished for it. I think its sickening that a judge would do this to the NFL. I also now think the Williams are disgusting for pursuing this. They should just take the suspensions and leave it at that. They are making a mockery of the sport. What does this judge want? Players to use steroids in professional sports?

Season tickets on the 50 yard online front row. Which I heard went in the mail today. laugh.gif

Not to say it will happen, but this type of things opens the doors to state making laws to protects it's teams. From what I have read the Vikings organization actually has some power to enforce these rulings (although not all as it may conflict with state law). In my opinion they should do something, because of the slippery slope that could come if they do not. That said I hate the Vikings more than any other team, still the case against the Williams's is more complicated than a straight up drug violation. The supplements did not say they had the banned substance in them and the NFL knew this but did not inform the players. Personally given the precedents of recent NFL enforcements I do not think it will matter, still it is hard to say for certain that they were trying to cheat.

Any lawyers in the crowd who could expand (in plain English please) on how this is legally possible?

They are. All employees be it front office or administration or players have both state and local taxes takes from the check. They pay state unemployment taxes just like any other business.. Remembe it a temporary restraining order, not a final decision on the case

WI needs to quickly pass laws declaring the Vikings and Bears terrorist organizations -- when they get to Lambeau on gameday, we can have troopers waiting to haul 'em away.

Maybe we can set up Washington Island as a midwest Gitmo?

A judge can basically rule whatever he wants with whatever hare-brained reasoning they can muster so long as he doesn't mind it being overturned on appeal. The Williams Boys are effectively playing a delaying game and this judge is helping them out.

Washington Island is way too nice to let Bears or Vikes on it. Bad enough there's so many FIBS. I'd suggest Kidney Island in Green Bay. It's where they used to dump toxic sludge dredged from the shipping channel. Right by Bay Beach.

THis is ridiculous. ALmost all employees in a state have state taxes and local taxes deducted.

That does not make them state employees.

This should be overturned.

The NFL should ask for a change of venue in the trail saying they can not get a fair trail ask maybe to change it to Green Bay or Chicago. laugh.gif
