QUOTE
“You know, if you’re a true Green Bay Packer fan, you’ll always love Brett Favre, wherever he plays,”

QUOTE
“You don’t love him as a Packer, or as a Viking, or as a Bear, or as a Chief. The guy can flat-out play football. He’s here 17, 18 years, never missed a game. That can’t be tarnished. He’ll never do anything off the field. That’s the only thing that I think will tarnish his legacy, if he does something crazy off the field. But football-wise, in my mind, his legacy will never be tarnished.”

Gotta admit, he makes some sense. A real stand up thing to say by Al IMO.

Heat your missing the point of this whole Brett Farve thing. You need to go out of your way to find negative stuff, even if it means quoting some guy in Aftganistan. Nobody want to see any logic, this is all driven on emotion, so the brain functions with very little reason. You may do better if you find some drunk in a Green Bay bar and quote him as an unnamed source. tongue.gif laugh.gif

True, most of this IS fueled by emotion. It's nice to hear another player, and a Packer at that comment on the situation. I guess when you put it into perspective with the Vick, Stallworth, Leonard Little, ettc. situations of the NFL world, Brett Favre wanting to play football - even if it's for a rival, isn't really that big of a deal.

I can appreciate Al's opinion on this, but Al is a player and players don't have loyalty to a team while fans do. Big difference.

I believe that to be the big difference myself. Us fans are very emotional about our team. We live breath and many of us use it as an outlet to lifes daily grinds.

Brett playing for the Vikings doesnt tarnish his legacy with me as much as how he acted last offseason .

I too will get over it with time . But he is now the enemy, that is a bitter pill for many of us to swallow.

I agree with the part of the comment in bold. I'm gonna quote another current Packer player though and take his side of it. One that has been in GB his whole career, and not played for multiple teams.

Well didn't want to comment but hey anyways I think he should do what ever he feels is in his heart.. But once he puts that purple (on) He will become an enemy which is all part of the game

That was by one of the emotional leaders of the defense, Nick Barnett on his Twitter page.

Bingo. Well said. The players understand it's just business. We fans are fans of the Team for life.
