I think it's time to put all the phony media coverage, the bickering, the will he, won't he stuff aside and treat the Brett Favre situation how it should be -- as a game. So, for the ultimate Packer Chatters bragging rights, I say we put down our guess as to when, "the decision" will be made.

The one closest should win something, and I nominate a custom user title as the grand prize. Obviously, this hinges entirely on Larry going along with it

Let's give it until Friday for everyone to get their guess in. Your guess cannot be the same as anyone else's, so get in while you can. Also, should Brett come back, in order to, "win" the announcement must be on the day you guessed and must either come from either the Favre camp himself, or some at least slightly credible news source such as ESPN, Glazer, King, Mort, etc.

I would like to suggest a rule, or clarification: Price is Right rules must apply. In other words, you must be closest without going over.

So if you say June 2, someone else says June 4 and it happens on June 3, then the other person wins.

I will go out on a limb and state he will play for The Minnesota Vikings.

I'll go with May 30. I don't see a decision to return being too late this year if he decides to come back.

Monday July 6 he will clarify for the final time that he is retired.

I'll say June 17th. He'll try to throw to high schoolers in the meantime, and Minnesota will do everything they can to drag it out and talk him into it, but his shoulder will just keep bothering him and he won't have the ol' laser like he's used to. Rumors and innuendo will run rampant until that time, when Favre will issue a statement through Bus Cook stating he is not coming back.

However, I'll also predict that after he has a year off and his shoulder fully heals, then maybe next offseason...

A week befoe camp

This crap always happens when I am away on vacation trying to relax, so it will be June 18.

I think I'm in good shape in this contest, with certain rumors picking up about private locker rooms and already agreed upon contracts. If I interpret the rules correctly, I think I win for anything between June 23rd (which was my pick) and July 2nd (1 day before GBkrzygrl's pick of July 3rd). Maybe I should start thinking about what I want my custom title to be.
