Vikings | Evaluating Favre's X-rays

Jeremy Schaap, of ESPN, reports X-rays of retired QB Brett Favre's (shoulder) right shoulder have been sent to the Minnesota Vikings for evaluation. If the Vikings determine Favre will not need major surgery, Favre will join the Vikings as their starting quarterback.

I received the same text from ESPN.
Jeremy Schaap is on NFL Live now stirring it up. "Wants to stick it to the Packers, is especially excited to play them, blah blah blah". This report stands in stark contrast to the one from Yahoo yesterday. And even moreso with Bus Cook's statements.
I don't know what or who to believe. Just stay retired Brett.

Favre to Vikings: It's not over
By Greg A. Bedard of the Journal Sentinel
May. 8, 2009 2:40 p.m.
Green Bay - Now we know why no one was able to confirm the Yahoo! Sports report that Brett Favre told the Minnesota Vikings he was going to stay retired.
Or why neither the Vikings nor Favre was saying anything about the matter.
It might not be over.
ESPN is reporting that Favre has sent his shoulder x-rays to the Vikings for them to look at it. If there is no major damage, the union may proceed.
As always, stay tuned.

This is what drives me nuts about the Favre situation and why I'm so glad that the Packers finally ended this last year. Enough is enough. If he wants to lolligag and play retirement games some other team can deal with it. The Jets weren't about to get into it either. Like I've said before. I'm just glad this isn't the Packers problem anymore. I'll wait and see what happens and what the truth is but if Favre goes to the Vikings he has the maturity of a 6 year old. This is no longer about simply playing football. He wants revenge. I just don't think it will go too much in his favor. 40 year old QBs don't exactly have a sparkling track record.

The more this BS continues, the more I lose some respect for Brett. Yes it's all rumor, but there is some truth. If Brett really wanted, he would slam this story for good and say he's retired and never coming back.

Well all I can say is this - Thank you Brett Favre.
I sat here at work yesterday, staring blankly at my computer screen with just tidbits of work to do in between, hoping, wondering, where I would get my exciting sports news from the next few months. Just a day earlier the report came out that you would be staying retired. That you had shunned the Vikings.
I remember last year around this same time. I used to work late then, and on a nightly basis, I would get into my car, roll down the windows to feel the summer night breeze and turn on Fox Sports Radio to hear J.T. "The Brick" discuss all that is Brett Favre for the next half hour of my commute home.
It was one of my most enjoyable parts of last summer.
As always, you're not disappointing this year. As always, you're coming through for us, the fans - in the clutch, and providing us all with something to escape the mundane, 9-5 of our everyday lives.
You're the best Brett!!

To check if the Bicep has started to heal or if he would need to have it totally detached and set which would be a 6 month recovery.

I also wonder what would happen if Favre agreed to sign for two years decided to retire after one AGAIN and Minn would never cut him meaning he could never sign with the Packers to retire and end up retiring a viking. OR if he does sign a Viking would you even want the Packers to ever sign him a one day deal to retire a Packer?

If he signs with Minnesota I wouldn't give rat's a$$ if he ever comes back to Green Bay, retires a Packer, or GB retires #4. In fact, I'm not sure I really care any more now.
I hope Rodgers breaks every damn record he owns - except of course the INTs.

Yeah, seriously. I mean, I know it sounds a bit harsh and all like I'm looking at this like a NASCAR fan watches for a crash the entire time, but at this point, the emotional attachment I once had for Favre has pretty much diminished. And really, it's not even because of this stuff. It's more time than anything. When he was playing, no one cheered louder for the guy. I loved watching him play and I'll admit it - I defended the hell out of him to anyone.
But now, even if it is a bit of a ra ra kind of circus, I feel no ill-will toward the situation - or him. But hot damn does it make for interesting discussion. It's like my guilty pleasure. My, "The Hills" of the NFL if you will. I don't feel good about liking this stuff. In fact, I feel kind of like I need to take a shower after every time I talk about it, but I admit, I keep comin' back for more. Fortunately for me, so does Brett

Didn't someone say on another thread that Favre shot this Viking rumor down yesterday?
And he really did not seek his UC release for signing on with the Vikes?
Why would you send x-rays to the Vikes if that were the case?
BTW, as sports reporters go, Jeremy Schaap is pretty good. Not quite up there with Adam S, or Pasquarelli in his heyday, but pretty good.

Here's the deal. Favre and Cook are looking for the Packers to give Favre some huge payout for the rights to his name and for him to retire. It's the same old crap. If you don't do this... I might do this... The guy is a total head case. He won't make any team better. Brett will lose more games for the then win.

It's amazing how the same guy who could have run for governor of Wisconsin and probably won is so thoroughly disliked and disrespected.
Fame and glory come and go, but how you treat people and how people feel about you stick around.
If and when he's in his rocking chair looking back on life, he's going to regret all this.
I hate to say it, but part of me feels like if ol' Irv were still around, none of this would have ever happened.

You have to wonder does anyone in the Favre family have any sense left? You figure someone would sit him down and tell him he is a 40 year old man not a 10 year old and that he should be setting a good example for his children not acting how he has been.
