Seattle just removed the franchise tag on Hill. Didn't TT draft Hill when he was in Seattle??? If I recall was either a first or second round selection. I believe he played OLB with Seattle. Would he be a good fit in the new 3-4 defense.

Update just read in Sporting News Hill was arrested in January for possession of Marijuana. Also stated he turned down a six year 36 million dollar deal and refused to sign the one year tender of 8.3 million.

Those were both big mistakes on Leroy Hill's part. He should have taken the long-term deal, and at the very least he should have had his tender ready to be signed and submitted to the team and league as soon as the Seahawks made Aaron Curry their selection. Seattle was smart to play the leverage that they had after the Curry pick. He'll still likely sign a long-term contract with the Seahawks IMO.

The Packers should pass him though. I think that we've invested enough money into the LB position for us to handle the transition. The only guy who's out there that I'd be interested in at this point is DE/OLB: Jason Babin - Kansas City. He knows the system from when he played for Capers in Houston and he put up pretty good numbers in limited action with the Chiefs last year. He has a reputation of being soft, but I'd sure like to see him brought in and let him compete. Give him a deal similar to Preston that doesn't have any signing bonus money and see if he can find a spot on the roster. At the very least I think he'd add quality depth at the ROLB rush backer spot. He's still under 30 and he'd be cheap. Just the way Ted Thompson likes it.

I believe you have given the best argument to NOT sign Babin that anyone could. Capers worked with Babin, saw him "up close and personal" on a daily basis, and apparently hasn't exactly been advocating him to TT. That, to me, speaks volumes. If Capers isn't interested, and has worked extensively with the guy, why would TT sign him?
