Sock in his mock
Green Bay Packers reporter Bob McGinn of the Journal Sentinel was outstanding this year with his mock NFL draft.

McGinn finished tied for second place among 98 people who worked up mock first rounds and were monitored by The Huddle Report, which focuses on NFL draft research and analysis.

Participants were given one point for each player correctly placed in the first round and two points for players matched correctly to the teams that chose them. McGinn had 48 points, tying him with Michael Abromowitz of The Football Expert.

The winner was Michael Band of Draft Ace, who had 50 points.

Todd McShay of Scouts Inc., who was part of ESPN's coverage, finished fourth with 46 points, followed by Drew Boylhart of The Huddle Report with 45.

The results were not to be made official until Tuesday.

Mel Kiper of ESPN and Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News were among those who finished tied for 10th.

Pat Kirwan of NFL.com, Don Banks of SI.com and Scott Zucker of USA Today were among those who tied for 17th.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports tied for 58th.

McGinn, with 78 points, finished tied for sixth among mock drafters who chose the top 100 players. Participants received a point for every player they correctly placed in the top 100.

Gosselin, with 84 points, was first in that category, followed by Draft Ace (82), Scouts Notebook (80), NFL Talent Experts (79) and Blue Chip Scouting (79).
