Nice list hope we can sign about 1/2 of them in particular your five "priority" designated guys plus the two TE and Cadogan at he least .

Also a coupla corners(Its a shame we had to lose the 3rd rd 83rd pick) and LBs would be nice.

Whoops their goes Ricky Jean-Francois at 244.

Whoops there goes TE Morrah at 248.

Whoops there goes Rashad Jennings at 250.

Whoops there goes TE Gronowski at 255.

No TE another shame.

As much as I like the Matthews pick its price may have caused a shortage in a coupla places I thought might be upgraded in this draft namely TE or CB.

Hopefully not necessary.

Lets see what gems the scouts can mine from the mass of undrafted players waiting breathlessly for a shot at the NFL.
GoGangGreen
Gosh, some nice players went undrafted.
Hands
Did the Ohio St. Nose Tackle get drafted? If not, I think he could be a keeper w/ a few years on the practice squad.
Ed West
I like Gano. I mentioned in the sixth round or so they should take him as a P. Most boards list him as a K. I just can't help but remember how he did against the Badgers. Should be a no brainer as a FA if he will come.
Nimrod
Does anyone know why Cadogen dropped of the end of the earth?

"Does anyone know why Cadogen dropped of the end of the earth?"

I wonder myself.

Interesting comments from the article:

"It's a great place to go compete," Shavers said. "The big thing was that the Packers held to their word that they wouldn't draft another player at the position. They really wanted him. We evaluated the situation and we're excited for Tyrell to be there. We think he fits great."

Sutton signs a three year deal and says the Packers told him to hang on because they would not draft a RB. Sure sounds like they like him.

Ryan Anderson - is that the former Oak Creek player?

I understand this is a highlight reel, but wow... I can't wait to see this guy in camp. It looks like the first tackler never gets him down. Reminds me a bit of the way that Michael Turner runs and bounces off of people.

Turner is 5'10" and 244# and Sutton is 5'8" and 211# so they are a bit different in size, but they look kind of similar to me.

Also, he looks GREAT running the screen. I can't wait.

Carson Butler, TE, Michigan -- Only 21, the Wolverines junior opted for the draft in part because his role in Michigan's offense disappeared when head coach Rich Rodriguez brought the spread offense to Ann Arbor. Butler is a bit of a project for a team that can afford to take its time with him, but he's 6-5, 257 pounds, with an arm-span of more than seven feet. His 4.6 speed should also prove tempting, because it's faster than your typical NFL tight end

Man what is going on- the Packers are going crazy with WR's. According to the NE site posted above the Packers have signed the following receivers

JaRon Harris 6-1 200 South Dakota St University

JaMarko Simmons 6-2 233 Western Michigan

Andy Brodt 6-3 200 Iowa

Additionally they signed Heckendorf or whatever the kids name is from North Dakota who was mentioned earlier

The tight end from Michigan sounds intriguing- good PS candidate.

They also posted that Carolina signed Cadogan, the tackle from Penn St. Many had considered him a 3rd rounder and he doesn't get drafted. Maybe someone will ask the guys who are coming in for chats.

and signed UDFA

Here's the whole list that I can find:

Andy Brodell WR Iowa

Tyrell Sutton RB Northwestern

Sutton is 5-feet-8 and 211 pounds. A combine invite, he ran the 40 in 4.68 seconds, did 12 reps on the bench and had a vertical jump of 33 inches.

He was Ohio's Mr. Football as a high school sdenior, and was a freshman All-American at Northwestern with 1,476 yards his first season.

Sutton had two serious injures -- an ankle in 2007 and a broken wrist in 2008 -- that kind of sidetracked him. When he was healthy last season, Sutton rushed for 890 yards with 305 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.

Sutton is known for being very tough and is built low to the ground. He excels at bouncing off tackles. An excellent receiver, Sutton could fill a need as a shifty third-down back for the Packers. He doesn't have breakaway speed, but he's very quick.

Kole Heckendorf, WR, North Dakota State (6-2, 191, 4.49 40-yard dash)

Played at Mosinee. . . . Redshirted, then started four seasons. . . . Finished with school-record totals in receptions (178) and yards (2,732). . . . Has been compared to Bill Schroeder. . . . "He ran extremely well at his pro day and has really good hands," one scout said. . . . Vertical jump of 38, broad jump of 10-4, bench press of 14 and Wonderlic of 14. . . . Older brother, Keith, is offensive coordinator and QB coach at Western Carolina. . . . "Kind of a frail kid," another scout said.

Carson Butler, TE, Michigan (6-5, 250, 4.72)

Three-time letterwinner at Michigan...played in eight games in 2008, starting three...played in three games as a DE...two catches for 17 yards and three tackles...Could be a Connor Barwin-type player that goes from offense to defense.

Jamarko Simmons, WR, Western Michigan (6-2, 231, 4.50)

Spent first two seasons as a running back...Had 104 catches for 1,276 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior. 84 catches for 980 yards and six touchdowns as a junior...Was a teammate of Greg Jennings at WMU.

JaRon Harris, WR, South Dakota State (6-1, 200, 4.46) -- according to kffl.com

Father Ron Harris was a seventh-round pick of the Vikings in 1978 as a running back...JaRon grew up a Packers fan...Had 64 catches for 891 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior.

Tryout invites:

Rhyan Anderson, DE, New Mexico State (6-4, 283, 4.61)

Former standout at Oak Creek High School, which has two other alum in the NFL (RB Brian Calhoun, Detroit, and TE Travis Beckum, picked by the Giants this weekend)....Top recruit from state in 2004 and rated No. 51 nationally by one recruiting firm. . . . After redshirting, played nine games for Miami Hurricanes in 2005 and one in '06 before being dismissed, according to one personnel director. . . . Surfaced at New Mexico State, starting in 2007 (one sack) and most of '08 (one sack). . . . "He sure didn't play well when I saw him," an NFC scout said. "They had him standing up some and they'd put him down.". . . . Worked out like a phenom last month, including a vertical jump of 38 feet and one-half inch, a broad jump of 10-5 and 25 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press. . . . Scored 15 on the Wonderlic intelligence test. . . . Green Bay has talked to him because his size fits the 3-4 defense. . . . Considered a character risk by some teams. . . . "You talk about a guy that had all the athleticism. He should have been dominating those guys he played against and he didn't," another scout said. . . . Has had two major shoulder operations.

Scott Witte, C, UW-River Falls (6-5, 328)

Native of Cedarburg...Started three-and-a-half years...Weighed about 360 pounds as a freshman before getting into shape.

I hope the kid gets a chance somewhere.

Wherever he goes, the team will need patience. His development has been stunted for years.

I gotta post Brodell's reels because it's a homer pickup for me living so close to IC. Iowa has a similar offense to what the Pack does, balanced run/pass, lots of rollouts, PA, short passes and then bombs down the field.

Very cool. He's a returner, WR, and a very solid blocker, Ruvell Martin and Blackmon better step up. This guy does both their jobs.

BTW, Jacksonville is going nuts. They've signed 18 UDFA already and it's only been a few hours since the draft.

Another invite to Rookie Tryout -

Joe Lardinois, DE, North Dakota State (6-4 ½, 264, 4.81)

Played at Green Bay Notre Dame. . . . Three-year starter with 20 sacks, six forced fumbles and 143 tackles. . . . "He played left end there but I guess for most teams he'd probably project like a 3-4 outside backer rush guy," one scout said. "He does flash some pass-rush ability. Just not a real consistent player." . . . Vertical jump of 34½ , broad jump of 9-4 and bench of 15. . . . "Good numbers, but they don't translate to how he plays," the scout said. "Average toughness."

http://www.nfldraftdog.com/2008_nfl_draft/...ie_williams.htm

Willie Williams, 2009 NFL Draft Prospect
Linebacker

6' 3' 233 lbs.

Speed: 4.51

Miami-Louisville-Glenville State-Union College

5th year senior

Linebacker Willie Williams was a very interesting prospect for the NFL Draft. Williams has taken quite the roller coaster ride. To say it’s not far from the penthouse to the outhouse is an understatement. He went from being rated as the number one prep (high school) linebacker in the country and playing as a true freshman at the University of Miami, to enrolling at Pearl River Community College in Mississippi, leaving there abruptly and then playing in four games last year for tiny West Los Angeles College. Williams received a redshirt at Miami for the 2004 season, because of a knee injury, and played mostly on special teams in 2005.

That’s what happens to even the most talented football players that routinely break the law. I could fill this scouting report page with his rap sheet, but he had 11 arrests before he even stepped on the field with the Hurricanes. His arrests were mainly on theft and burglary charges. Maybe that’s why they call Miami Thug-U.

So that might be the end of the story except that Williams, who starred at Carol City High in Miami, has reportedly turned his life around and seems to be headed for a chance to play in the NFL. His 36 month probation term was cut short by six months for good behavior.

There were rumors that he might transfer to USC or UCLA, but Williams has decided to transfer to Louisville. It appears the talented 6’ 3” 233 pound linebacker has been given a second chance by Cardinal Coach Steve Kragthorpe and he will play alongside talented Malik Jackson, giving the Cardinals an impressive set of linebackers.

His coach at West Los Angeles, Craig Austin was thoroughly impressed with Williams in only four games last year. Here is an excerpt of what Austin said about Williams, “He’s definitely going to be a first or second-round selection to play in the NFL, that’s how good he is. He’s an edge guy. He’s a guy that will fly around and make plays, but he’s at his best when he’s rushing the passer and coming off the edge. He played some defensive end, outside linebacker and middle linebacker for us. In the four games he played I counted at least nine sacks. There may have been more.”

I normally don't use profanity here at NFL Draft Dog, but what a dumb ass. We can stick a fork in this young man, he is done. On 27 September 2007 ESPN reported that Williams was kicked off the Louisville team for possession of Marijuana. His once promising dream of playing in the NFL appears to be severely damaged.

Less than a week after the N.C.A.A. denied an appeal to restore his eligibility at Division II Glenville State College in West Virginia, he has transferred to Union College, an N.A.I.A. school in Kentucky. Williams had a solid year at Union College in 2008 where he was named to the All-Mid-South Conference East First Team and set a single-season record for tackles with 150. He dominated the competition at the NAIA level recording an additional 19.5 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks.

After his troubled college career I highly doubt an NFL team will take a chance using a 2009 NFL Draft pick on him, but I predict that NFL teams will be lining up to sign him up as a priority free agent and if he does some how find a way to turn his life around and commit 100% to football, then he does have a chance to make an NFL roster because he has immense talent. But his past would say, "Don't count on it"
