Arrigo strongly suggested in his draft rumors that the Packers would be trading back into the first round for a player they really wanted. They did, trading several picks for Clay Matthews. I think Mr. Arrigo should get some recognition for this prediction/rumor. After all, he has gotten a lot of criticism for his rumors being incorrect.
Unofficially, thank you, Mr. Arrigo.

Yes, indeed quite impressive. Was the prediction listed anywhere on packerchatters by chance? I'd like to read it (and the fact finder in me is curious if Matthews was the player predicted to be traded up for). When I view Arrigo's posts on this site via the 'find member's posts' feature, I find:
As for players who the Packers like on day two.....
Jason Williams-OLB- W. Illinois
Shonn Greene- RB- Iowa
DeAndre Levy- OLB- Wisconsin
Stephen McGee- QB- Texas A&M
============= and also:
There is a lot of chatter (from multiple people) regarding a deal between the Packers and Texans.
The deal would be Ryan Grant to Houston for their 2nd round pick, which would be used on LeSean McCoy (RB, Pitt).
The Packers like McCoy and think he has big time ability. They also think he would team with Jackson to be a great 1/2 punch.
This is just a rumor I wanted to throw out there.
============== Then there's also:
There are a lot of rumors coming out of Green Bay that has the Packers visiting with OLB/DE Jason Taylor. From what I gathered from a few "friends", there was a talk, bnut they have heard nothing about him coming to Green Bay. They said if he does come through, that it is a ploy for the Dolphins and Pats to start a minor "bidding war" for his services.
The Packers expect to hear from Kevin Carter fairly soon. They have had talks and would like the former Super Bowl champion to come in and not only be a stop gap at one defensive end position, but also a leader in the locker room.
If Carter decides that he doesn't want to come to the Packers then they (the Packers) will then turn the heat up on former Packer/Chief/Dolphin Vonnie Holliday.
The Lions are shopping the 1st pick from what I heard and the Packers are a team that the Lions called. No word on what the cost would be or if there is any "real" interest, but the presumption is IF the Packers were to trade up, Aaron Curry (a player EVERYONE involved with the Packers organization) loves and thinks would be an All Pro in his 1st year would be the pick.
The Packers will have another private meeting with N. Illinois OLB Larry English with in the next few weeks. The interest in mutual and I have heard, and have reported in other O.T.S.es that the Packers think English is the type of player that would be a perfect fit in their new 3-4.
B.J. Raji will not be taken off the Packers board, but the hopes of im being a Packer are not to high. If Mark Sanchez goes to the Seahwaks (which is what I expect after his outstanding workout), the Broncos would love to trade up and land him.
2 more hot names that is being linked to the Packers are Penn St. offensive tackle Gerald Cadogan and USC defensive end Kyle Moore.
It is almost a for gone conclusion that the Packers will indeed trade Scott Wells.
In an e-mail I got last night about those "positive" drug tests reguarding the 5 players at the combine, my "friend" said that the roid rumors were not true. That being said, Clay Matthews and Brian Cushing's evaluation will now be looked into a little deeper (as if the evaluation isn't already thurough enough). The marijuana tests are also being looked into, but to a lot of teams already had their ears up to Harvin, Davis and Raji, all players with charector questions.
A couple wide receivers to keep an eye on when draft day comes, Ramseys Barton (Cal Poly SLO), Derrick Williams (Penn St.) and Patrick Turner (USC).
===========From April 5:
Here is my 1st mock on PC for the 2009 draft.
I will take some rumors I have heard, mixed with the "Thompson effect" and how I see the draft will play out and you will have my mock.
Free Agents added:
Anthony Smith- S
Duke Preston- OL
Kevin Carter- DL
Trades:
The Packers trade their 1st (#9 overall) to the Broncos for the Broncos first (#12 overall) and the Broncos 2nd.
The Packers trade the 2nd pick they obtained from Denver, center Scott Wells and a condintional pick in 2010 to the Eagles for ther 1st round pick and a 4th round pick.
The Packers trade Al Harris and their 4th round pick to the Panthers for thier 3rd round pick and a conditional pick in 2010.
Draft:
Round 1 (#12) Malcolm Jenkins- CB- Ohio St.
Round 1 (#21) Larry English- OLB- N. Illinois
Round 2 (#41) Jeremy Meredith- OT- S. CarolinaRound 3 (#73) Jason Williams- OLB- W. Illinois
=============April 3rd:
Rumor has it Vonte Davis, Raji, Percy Harvin and the UTEP kicker, Martinez, all tested positive for weed and USC LB's Matthews and Cushing tested positive for roids.
I don't know how legit these rumors are, but they are out there now and getting for public by the minute.
I am starting to think the perposed deal (involving Harris) may happen and the Packers draft Jenkins (if they stay at #9) since the Packers will be playinf more zone and that can mask his (lack of) speed.
Round 3 (#83) Shonn Greene- RB- Iowa
Round 3 (#93) Fili Moala- DE- USC
Round 4 (#121) Kyle Moore- DE- USC
Round 5 (#145) Jasper Brinkley- ILB- S. Carolina
Round 6 (#182) Gerald Cadogan- OT- Penn St.
Round 6 (#187) Jason McCourty- CB- Rutgers
Round 7 (#218) Tez Doolittle- DL- Auburn
That sure looks like an awful lot of spaghetti to be tossing against a wall.
