There is a lot of chatter (from multiple people) regarding a deal between the Packers and Texans.

The deal would be Ryan Grant to Houston for their 2nd round pick, which would be used on LeSean McCoy (RB, Pitt).

The Packers like McCoy and think he has big time ability. They also think he would team with Jackson to be a great 1/2 punch.

This is just a rumor I wanted to throw out there.

Well Geez - Look who's here. That wouldn't be bad but I like Brown of UConn a bit better.

Are you going to join me and jersey cheese (your buddy) under the Packer Draft Talk thread starting at 2:45pm?

HMMMM....is that why we hear that they like Wells as well?

Or maybe a twist - Take Beanie Wells at #9 - trade Grant to the Texans for a 2nd - and then address the defense with the two 2nd rounders.

Not opposed to this at all.

maybe, more then likely i'll be there later.

i'll call u in an hour.....

i would love the packers 2 do this deal by the way.

Or....trade down from #9 with Philly...pick up their #3 as well. Draft Wells, Moreno, or Brown in round #1. Trade Grant and go from there.

I'd pull the trigger on that.

Getting a 2 for Grant, give Jackson a chance to shine, and get a nice young prospect... I like it.

Why would they want Grant when they have Slaton? This makes no sense to me.
LeRoy36
Well if anything they would wait until the Houston is on the clock in the second round to pull this off. Or It happens at 41 and Green Bay takes McCoy at 41. Although I dont get the move McCoy is very similar to Grant, he is just younger.
ATLPACK99
A second rounder for Grant, I don't buy it. I think you can get a better RB in the second and beyond that's better than Ryan Grant. Why waist a pick?

Most succesful NFL teams have a two-headed RB tandem.

Grant / Slaton would be a nice tandem.....albeit with the remote possibility of this occuring

To be honest, I would give up Grant for a 3rd . But, that is with the idea we have already drafted one. I think he soured the front office last year with his demands and then his quick injury.

The pick at #9 should tell us something about the chances of this happening.

Thats to far down for just a #3!!

I can't see Houston giving up a second for Grant.

Maybe they haven't learned from their former packer running back aquisition.
