Full Version: NO LIVE CHAT ROOM?
PackerChatters > PackerChatters > Draft Talk

Why is there no live chat room today? In years past there was a live chat during the draft and it was a lot of fun. You guys made a big mistake by not having one this year. What were you thinking?

PS - Please let me know if there is one and I just missed the link.

I was hoping there would be a live draft chat as well. Any word on it?

Well, we can try to start our own.

Go to packerblitz.com then under "interactive" click "live chat." You may have to open up the chat room in seperate window if you have a pop up blocker. It will tell you how. Then just enter a username. I dont know if this will work but it is worth a try. I will see you there.

Why not just use the Official Draft Day Tread? Its allready started. Just like The Official Game Day Tread we talk on during games.

Why don't we just do it here under the header topic Packer Draft Chat. All everyone has to do is type their reply hit enter and then hit refresh which will have everything updated. This will allow everyone on Chatters to participate without leaving the site.

I am going to start the thread in the next few minutes.

Chatting in a discussion board is annoying. I hate having to refresh the thing every second and then scroll through all the posts. Live chat is so much faster and better during an event. But what the hell do I know.

I agree, but if we move to Packerblitz, I don't think we will have as many participate.

The chat here at PackerChatters is not a live chat, it is a moderated one. That means that someone (either Larry or a mod) has to sit and approve every single comment and then post it in the chat. It works Great for our guest chats, but not conclusive to the kind of chats talked about here.

I agree. I don't want to filter people away from the site. I just wish they wouldn't have taken down the chat feature. Oh well. And packerblitz.com seems kind of crappy.

In years past they had an open chat feature. It was right by the forum link. You could just go in there and chat. There was usually a mod in there to make sure people stayed nice but it was a "free for all." It was a lot of fun.

I remember, me and my buddy Joe Arrigo spent many hours on there

I'm assuming they've closed the chat because people keep getting angrier, rowdier, and drunker every year, and it's easier to control that on a forum thread than in a chat room. I agree though, the chat was pretty fun, most of the time.
