No wishy washy opinions- say what you mean and mean what you say. Do you like the Packers picks and how do you think they will fit in the scheme?

What are your thoughts?
WB PackerFan
Well I will be busy coaching baseball most of the day. However I am looking forward to sitting down this evening and taking it all in .
I still say TT trades out and shocks us all with Wells.
Packdaddy
A family tradition...I jokingly call it the most-holy-day of the year with my kids...I'm slowly brainwashing them. They at least understand it's frivolity. They're hoping for an OT.

All I know its shortly after 8AM in Shawano, WI and IMHO the draft should have started already.

I hate suspense lets get on with it. 3PM start and the Packers first pick no earlier than 4:30 whats up with that everybody will have BO and most of a 5 O'Clock shadow not to mention dying of thirst and starving 1/2 to death.

Plus thats my wifes TV time.

Well maybe if adjust my drinking habits I can fit this into my "cockail hour" but that time by rights should be designatd for post-mortem evaluations rather than waiting for the 1st freaking Packer pick.

This whole scenario reeks.

Lets get on with it.

So we can get to signing undrafted players.

And then begin the sorting and evaluating of who is likely to surive to the 53 man roster and why.

Year-round NFL football would be fine by me but I mostly hate April/May/June as regards the NFL although they are great months for my walks.

Are you almost ready?

Yep. I'm ready, and I already approve of all of the picks. I have this feeling that I'll be happy with whoever they pick. As an eternal optimist, I will always look for the plus side and have high hopes for any player from Ayers to White (there are no players from X to Z on NFL.COM's draft site).

What time does it start? 3:00? I heard it was later this year.

That is why I like the pole, people can be anonymous in your likes/dislikes...

But it is nice if the comments are real instead of telling others what you think they want to hear...

I'm so jacked.

So when 3 pm rolls around, why will it take Detroit 10 minutes to put their card in?
LMG
We'll use this thread for the official.

Thanks.

For those of not able to watch the 2nd best day of NFL (Super Bowl #1) coverage starts before 3pm CST. And if you are like me and need to set the DVR, the draft is from 3-8 on ESPN and then moves to ESPN2 from 8-10. I think it will go longer than 10pm so plan accordingly.

GBP4EVER
I actually wonder if TT can make any kind of pick without the crowd at Lambeau hating it and booing the pick which they do like every year.
LeRoy36
I doubt it GBP4EVER....although people didnt boo AJ Hawk so. Either way I still have my gut feeling that the pick is Malcolm Jenkins (I've had it every since the daft process began) and if thats the case I dont think Packer fans will be to happy. Maybe not mad but not happy... maybe mad if Raji or Oher is still on the board.

But yeah Rick Gosselin has us taking Jenkins in his final mock and he is one of the better mockers.

I can't see the Packers taking a guy who projects as a saftey in the top 10. Safties are not a top 10 thing.

While booing is inappropiate, Paker fans are passionate. Other than the Harrell pick, I liked his first round choices.

I see Stafford signed a 6 year deal with Detroit for #1 overall 42 mill guarenteed.
GBP4EVER
Will the chat room be open today for live chatting of picks?
LeRoy36
True GBP4EVER but the league is split 50/50 on Jenkins. 50 think safety, 50 think corner back and with Ted seeing both Woodosn and Harris up close he probably isnt worried about Jenkins speed.

Either way its just a gut feeling.
Randolph Hiedler
I personally don't care who the pick is or what position they play. What matters to me is if that person is an impact player. I am still having flash backs to the Wolf era drafting for needs instead of taking the best player.
LeRoy36
Me too RH. But I do have a top five and if your rumors have any fire to them than Im not going to be disappointed today because all five guys I think the pick will be where the five guys you said Ted was looking at.
Vinnie
The thing is often the team boards are waaayyyy different than fan and draft commentary people's boards....

GBMAC
I just want the Packers to have Raji, Jackson and a Good OT to chose from. Listening to ESPN we won't have any of those!!!

The Draft hasn't even begun (technically) and already The Official Thread is 3 pages long. I predict this thread will end up at 53 pages by Monday morning.

Right now I am sitting on the computer, Espn on the radio, Espn on the TV, and am stuck with my mock draft on who the Chiefs are going to pick!!
I'll head out to Wild Wings at 2PM totally brain dead!!
Vinnie
Any guesses who the draft day droppers like Carl Nicks or the EJ Henderson of this years draft will be?

I will go with Cushing.
GBP4EVER
So anyone going to mute the tv when the Jets are up? It is bad when you need to spell out the name of your team so you do not say it wrong. laugh.gif

And 2 people have already made up their minds. huh.gif

This morning on both ESPN radio and Fox Sports radio Andre Smith was projected to be the Packers pick at #9 if he is there. I DO NOT like that choice, rather I would like to see a defensive player (NT, DE or OLB) taken if the Packers stay at #9!! wink.gif

I saw the objective replies, no poles are perfect...

What is the deal with Cushing's ponytail?

I/ve got to run an errand. I figure the Pack's pick should come up around 4:30 CST. Agree?

Will the Lions milk out their 10 minutes or pick right away?

I never wished for rain on a Saturday, but this time I did not mind it. My baseball game I coach was canceled now I can relax, kick back and watch everyone gripe about the Packers selections. Oh the bliss!!!

I do not think Smith will be there. But if he is, I'm all about it.
gbpackfan
Andre Smith would come in and start at RT day 1. He would improve the running game instantly. Next year, you move him to LT and put Giaminicciocncainmimcico (ha ha ha) in at RT. Smith would be a great choice. But he won't be there at 9.
phanatic1
Sure sounding more and more like New England wants to move up. #23 and #34 and a later pick for #9. That has a Ted Thompson deal written all over it.
knowntome
I'd jump on that... rolleyes.gif

Mayock has GB getting Eugene Monroe @ 9!

Despite the fact that Belichek has said already the change is 'less than zero'.....?

I wonder if that clashes with the tidbit that they like Oher better than Monroe.

Could be misinformation floated out there. Monroe is THE BEST OT in the draft. If the Packers get him, it will be a miracle. Won't happen though.
