As we approach the draft, everyone tries to predict which players the Packers will select. Well I would like to do a different kind of "Mock draft". Instead of predicting which players will be chosen, I am going to try and predict which positions will be chosen. The Packers have 9 draft picks so I will assume they end the draft with 9 selections.
Offense
QB:0
RB:0
FB:0
WR:1 Ted's chosen 8 WRs in the last 4 drafts, so I think he takes one this year. Probably a Return Spec.
TE:0
OT:1 The Packers will get someone to play RT with the potential of becoming a LT.
G/C:1 If the rumors are true, Wells will be gone and this will be his replacement.
Defense
NT/DT:1 Ted will get us some depth at NT
DE:1 more of a developmental prospect and not a first year starter IMO. Ted is counting on Harrell and Jolly.
OLB:2 I don't predict either of these guys to be chosen in the first round.
ILB:0
S:1 This will be one of the mid to late round picks.
CB:1 Chosen in the first 3 rounds.
Although Ted has a best player available mentality, as the rounds go on BPA become muddled and roster holes get filled.
