I am sure TT will be wheeling and dealing as usual, but I make just one trade.
Picks #9 and 109 to Denver for picks #12, 79, and 185. Pretty much an even deal on the trade chart - if people care about that one.
So with the trade:
#12 - Malcolm Jenkins - I think TT does not see the guy he wants at 9 - so he trades back and gets an extra pick. Jenkins is the BPA at the time and he is a pick of need.
#41 - William Beatty - The LT of the future. May be in the mix this coming season as the RT, but will be the LT - hopefully - for years to come. Athletic and long. Has the numbers to look like a solid player.
#73 - Clay Matthews - The questions about him cause him to fall 15-20 spots, but he is just to good to pass up at this time. Could come in and be an instant starter. Concerns about his cover ability, but has all the intangilbes you want.
#79 - Ricky Jean Francois - The classic underachiever this past season. Coming off a great junior year, just didn't produce like he should have. But has the classic DE size fo the 3-4 and we all know this is a position of need for the Packers.
#83 - Mike Mickens - TT once again goes back and grabs a CB. Some question about his speed, but just seems to make plays.
#145 - Sammie Lee Hill - 330 DL from small school Stillman that TT will hope can make the move inside to NT. Quick off the ball and pretty agile for a guy this big.
#182 - Roy Miller - 310 pounder from Texas. Could go earlier, but slides down the boards. A leader for the Longhorns that has produced in big games.
#185 - Tiquan Underwood - WR - Rutgers. A solid performer, but had a tough senior year after a good junior year. Kind of lean, but runs in the 4.4's.
#187 - John Phillips - TE - Virginia. Good blocker with decent hands. Not a speed burner by any means, but a steady player.
#218 - Brian Huber - P from Cincinnati. Averaged around 44 yards a punt with solid hangtime. Great ability to pin teams back inside their own 15.
This is a dangerous draft that could really pay off or be the demise of TT. Several of these guys are extremely talented, but did not have their most productive years last season. As a result, their stock falls some, but TT scoops them up. Players like Francois, Miller, and Hill could all impact the D-line this season. Beatty could start at RT. Matthews could start opposie Kampman. Jenkins sees the field quickly.
